Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks can't get the goemoe has been captured quest!

I love Divine Divinity but now I have stumbled upon a problem, after i got out of the catacombs to save Mardeneus i wanted to have some little fun so i killed both Joram and that dwarf. but now i'm stuck at the convince Goemoe to join the Council Of Seven quest! the only healer that's alive is lanilor and i don't get the option to talk to him about were goemoe went and when I look in the altar thingy i still see goemoe at the blue boar inn!
do any of you guys now how to get the quest to work?

If you killed them indirectly (ie casting Poison Cloud near but not directly on them), then the Reviving dead NPCs procedure should work to get one of them back and continue the quest to rescue Goemoe (as I assume you have found out already, either Joram or Otho are required to inform the character that he was seen leaving the inn, which triggers the next part of the quest).

If you attacked both of them directly, then they would still be hostile after being resurrected, and would simply attack. Replacing their character data with that from a working save at the same point in the plot should bring them back friendly, though (I still have all my old saves, and can retrieve a suitable one).


Do you have the original release, or something? I though the patch or already updated re-release versions added protection for more of the essential NPCs, so that most or all of them could not be killed.
