Hi. I am a new player, a warrior-ranger hybrid, and wondering which way to go on swords. I like the feel and animations of two-handed swords, but I read in an FAQ that t-h is the worst sword skill.
Is that true?
Any advice on this from veterans will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Obviously with dual wield you would have extra charm and enchantment slots...but does 2H do equivalent damage to DW?
2H also seems to have a wide area of damage...I noticed this when surrounded.

I don't try it already, but maybe a Two-handed Sword AND the skill Wirlwind using them together must be very nice!?
I love a Two-handed Sword personally more than Dual Wielding. But further on I love to use a good Bow delight

So is the bow a viable weapon in this game?

A bow a viable weapon?
Yes, for sure! If you search nicely, you could find (enough) bows with good high damage value, even in the beginning of the game! But naturally, you must put enough points in Dexerity to use greater bows!
BUT I combine a bow always with Mage-skills and some Melee weapons for close combat too!

Further on I put the most stat-points in Strength and Intelligence and try to find charms for Vitality and Spirit or find gear with these stats.

So for close combat I use the swords or axes I find! Only I buy early in the game the best bow I can find and I buy nothing or maybe a good two-handed sword if I can't find one soon!

The skill I put immediately 2 points in is Ranger Stealth, some of my favorite skills and I always focus on passiv skills smile . But Ranger Stealth is very handy, not only for a Ranger, but also for a Mage-type! Drawing a bow with this passive skill I can focus from more afar an enemy and on that moment I can choose to shoot arrows (and using Poison Arrows if possible) AND/OR I can choose to use spells!! If the enemies are a few levels stronger, I shoot and than go running backwards and most of the time just 1 enemy comes closer! So I can kill him with magic and a bow and finish with a melee weapon, using Wirlwind if necessary!

Other skills I have are (from memory, don't sure I write them all down here the one I have):
Magic Blast(2), Destruction(2), Confusion(1), Fireball(2), Mana Efficency(2), Potion Efficency(1), Ranger Strength (1 from gear), Poison Arrows (begin as a Ranger), Explosive Arrows(1), Evade( from gear), Wisdom (from gear), Stun Arrows (from gear), Lockpick, ...

Some gear with a skillpoint I switch between them, according to the situation!

I always search for the best equipment and hope I can find good enchantments and charms! wink

On "high" difficulty (for my 3e play) it is not easy, but it is fun, a challenge and I will absolutely try it to the end! So I will never change the difficulty later on!! biggrin
I use my Creature (not always, but often) and try to give it the best legs, arms, body, head, etc I can find! Maybe later on I try a the skill to summon a Demon, but not sure.

I try to find the weak spots of all kind of enemies, but not so simple to find!

Killing Amdusias was not easy! I kill him with a good two-handed sword and magic: so I run fast to him so he take his sword and not his bow with explosive arrows!!
Killing almost all enemies in Brocken Valley and do almost all Quests there.

If you have more questions, ask wink

Thank you Joram for so much great info.
I'm playing as a warrior-ranger focussing on 2H swords.
Putting most points into strenght and dexterity and a few in vitality.
I have not tried magic yet.
I think I will invest in ranger stealth next; it sounds useful.

Are you also replaying Divine Divinity?
I played it a bit some years ago but never finished it.
How do you like it after all these years?

Did you play Beyond Divinity?

O yes, I play again DD smile
I finished it twice, on easy diificulty and now I will try to the final end on "hard".
I restart already many many times!! And after all these years I love it, still!
I love the Quests, the Skills and the way to build my hero stronger and stronger. I love some Skills in DD that D II ED not have. But I love D II ED too!

Beyond Divinity I started, but never finished the first Act. Maybe later, ever .... but I find it a disappointment in BD it work with "Acts", not so an "open world" like in DD.
