(SPOILERS BELOW)

Hello. I've done all the Bellegar spawn/kill quests (or so it seems from what I've been able to read on the internet). I went to the final place where he stands on the pillar and spawns a host of level 12 creatures at you. After killing the troll, nothing happens. He just stands there.

Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, is there a workaround? I've tried saving/reloading/going to an earlier save/reloading again/all of the above combined with restarting the game. I will certainly try it some more, but it might be a quicker solution to start a thread about it. smile

Oh, and I've confirmed something else.

Whenever you kill all the waves of creatures, leave the area and try to transport somewhere else, you get a constant loading screen. Same goes for loading a game. While the loading screen is being displayed, you can hear your avatar swinging the sword if you press the appropriate button, but no other sounds (no walking, spells, etc.) Alt+F4 is the best way to get out of it.

I've since gone through the Maxos temple and completed a number of other quests... so it's looking like I'll have to avoid this one throughout the game.

I don't recall anyone else having this issue...
Some people had a similar problem talking to the 4 sleeping people in Broken Valley, near Bellagar's shrine in the bandit area mountains. The workarounds in that case were to either save before talking to each person, and then just reload if there was a problem and try again, or after exiting the conversation quicksave when stuck, exit the game, restart the game and load the quicksave (which should get everything back to normal).

You could try a clean re-install of the game; in case there is a problem with that particular cutscene or dialog file.

Incidentally I had that problem with the sleeping people. I eventually worked around it using the save/reload thing.

One thing that I did that may have caused a bug is this: I got into the bandit camp and accepted a couple of quests. One was to find an axe, and the other was to help attack a caravan. Before I completed either of these, I told the LT in the village the location of the camp, and it was attacked... everyone inside killed. But the quests still remained in my quest book. The "attack the caravan" mission was solved by siding with the caravan people, but the axe one has yet to be solved. The axe is mysteriously absent from the location it's supposed to reside in. And even if I found it, there's no one to return it to.

Right now I'm making my way through sentinel island. When I get back to playing round with Broken Valley, I'll post what I find/did not find.

While informing Louis of the camp's location will break any open quests there, it shouldn't cause a problem with Bellegar AFAIK.
The axe should lying be on the ground near one of the bodies around the cart near the bridge, not in anyone's skull, as the guy that gave you the quest stated.

I did a pretty thorough search of the area, twice (both times were after killing the bandit camp). I may have missed it, but I'm doubtful.

In any case, I'll be away from my computer until next week. Sorry to see I'm the only one with the problem... and I really hope that more things aren't broken later in the game. I quit playing Beyond Divinity twice because of quest breaking bugs, both times I got past the halfway point.
