I was wondering...in the first Divinities, you could move stuff, like almost anything, and take it elsewhere. My camp had a piano/concert area, food/table/chair area, tons of bushes, my big bed/sleeping area, complete with privach screens, nicknacks and so forth. Almost like a "sim" game..with regards to my "home" area. If you use the multiply "trick" and made a bunch of different jewels..scatter them around your camp area and check 'em out at night...what a neat effect..

This feature is completely absent from Ego Draconis. Why is that? Is it too time consuming or expensive for this feature to be in a game. As in..they need to watch the cost/production factor..understandable. Or did they think it wasn't all that importand and wouldn't be missed...

I miss it..anybody else..thanks

I would assume part of the problem allowing items to be moved around would be the user interface. With the changes to accommodate a moveable camera and controls that would be consistent for human and dragon movement / combat, a point and click interface was not really appropriate. On the Xbox everything would have to be done through the controller.
At some point maybe it was just too much effort to get it working well for the perceived value it would bring to the game.

Hi..the 1st Divinity was the best for this mini sim thingy...It's a neat game and worth playing..if you do, try customizing the area you pick for your base....

I used the big field, NE of Riverton and used it as "my space" I used the wall by the "black market" seller as my starting point and went from there...after I killed all the Trolls of course...Can't get a good nights sleep with Trolls prowling around your bedroom...

I eventually had it filled with different sections, for different uses....I should have taken some pix...the night scene, with the jewels sparkling in the dark, was just great...especially the big red and green ones, scattered among the trees....had walkways leading to all the areas, with big gold jugs lining the walkways with jewels between them to light it up at night....another neat thing is that the townspeople eventually wander around the different areas giving it a real "alive" feel....they only gravitate to the E/NE area.

My favorite area was a fire pit I made with gold surrounding a bunch of red and gold gems..I had chairs, a pink loveseat, some beer/wine, cheese and bread around it. Also a few books for effect...

You can get pianos, screens, tables, bookcases, flowers, books, bowls, globes and items too numerous to mention. If it isn't glued down, you can take it. I used the "duplicate item" trick to make a bunch of bushes for barriers between the different areas...and tons of bushes around the whole area to give a feeling of privacy and security.

To get enough of some items, you will need to use the duplicate trick.... must have made 100's of red/gold/green jewels...wouldn't even try to guess how many big bushes I made.

If you play the game, I know you'll enjoy it....the game and the sim thing..I may have gone overboard with it, but I was having so much fun building my own town, at times I forgot about the "game"...have fun..bye

O yes! biggrin Divine Divinity is defenitly my favorite if I think about all the stuff I can take away and drop in a house or make a place for my own somewhere in the aera of the rivertown Marketplace smile.

@qiote:
if you have a screenshot of "your creation" you make, it will very nice to see it! Honestly, I'm very curious about your own creation!
Sometimes I had it too: making a nice own place an forget to go for solving quests or killing some enemies ... just play a game in a game delight !!

On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin,
it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !

Hi..no screenshots..I wish I'd taken a few...

To get this "creation" really good, you will need to "duplicate" items since there's not enough for all the things you'll think of...and as you start to "build" your creation, you will think of a bunch... Duplicating the items you want, beats the heck out of carrying all this stuff back, a few pieces at a time.

A "concert" area with rows of chairs, screens and a piano takes more items than you can find. I made use of two different type screens...duplicating them to get enough to surround my sleeping area, and help divide the different sections from each other...along with the rows and rows of bushes, gems and gold jugs.

With the weight limit, on how much you can carry at one time, you might require several trips "home" when you find areas with the piano, chests, night tables and so forth.

And don't forget the pumpkins growing in the field, apples, hay, and so on. You can have a "farm" area full of fruit for sale, haystacks, pumpkins growing etc.....if you've got a good imagination, you will have a ball...there's almost no end to the things you will think of..

I know you'll enjoy doing this...and you'll love the effect of the jewels, sparkling at night.

PS..if you need to, "search" "duplicate items", in the 1st Divinity Forum....you can also split, stacked items after you've duplicated them....bye
