Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Maria reputation quest bug? (***SPOILERS****)

Hi. I have solved the Maria reputation quest, got made a member of the Merchant's guild, etc; however...

When I go back to tell Maria she can go home, I get a cutscene (well, sort of. you know, the DD version of a cutscene) and then the game freezes. She walks a bit, and then nothing. I can pause, save, load but nothing else.

Luckily, I saved right before this. Have gone and done a few other things, come back, but still a freeze in which loading another save is the only way out.

Has anyone else experienced this? Please help!

i do have the latest. i just bought the game a few weeks ago and immediatly installed the patch <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

what do i lose if I dont finish this? is there a lot of exp and rep? i also remember reading somewhere it was tied into being allowed to own a home... i hope thats not true <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

alas, yes. If u can't get her to leave this house, u can't actually buy and own a hosue in verdistis. It's malcomes old hovel. I know it sucks, but u can take over a house. Or just kill someone and take there house. But mostly, take over a house in Aleroth if u can't get her out of there. sorry.

Try running the configuration program and switching to software mode, and maybe reduce the resolution. This can help with some cut scene problems. After that you can save and restore your original settings.

how do u get to the configuration place?

Click on the Start button, then Programs | Divine Divinity | Configure Divine Divinity
This will bring up the configuration program which automatically ran the first time you started Divinity.
