You got a book of magic that can control wind when you rescued the guy on the top of the pillar (near the trainer Kenneth). There is a windy spot near where you start on the island with a tombstone and three candles...

After you read the mute goblin Erlking's mind, you can read the book he was thinking of on the other side of the room (entering the room, his bookcase is on the right at the far back).

Once you have the demon's name, finish everything off that you want to do in Broken Valley (you can wait to rescue those in the quarry tower) and Sentinel Island (except the quest you need to be able to fly to complete) before proceeding further in the battle tower.

The book was Gothe's ballads. IIRC it is the last one in the list (you may need to scroll down), or you could have just gone through all of them.

The option to read his mind doesn't come up for me. It just gives me two choices: one is to have him write down the demons name, the other is sarcasm. I've read all the books and after reading Goethe's Ballads, "I hear a click inside the wall". What does that mean? I am stuck at this point. Please help.

Did you mindread him earlier? I thought you had to do so to get Gothe's ballads to show up in the bookcase... If you didn't mindread him you should be able to do so during the conversation (hit X in the Xbox version; don't know for PC).

The wall beside that bookcase is movable, and at least after mindreading Erlking, reading Gothe's ballads removes it to reveal a small room containing a couple chests (one with the soul forge contract, the key for it being up a level). Maybe if you didn't mindread Erlking, the 'click inside the wall' is just a clue to tell you that you are in the right spot, and there is something there hidden.

I got it. I neglected to check the container in the secret room. This is what happens when you put a game like this down for a week. You forget what you have done. Lol!
