Hi!

After leaving my Battle Tower the game becomes EXTREMLY hard. In Broken Valley i played as a ranger it was quite fun. I almost spent any skill or stat point i was skilling only lockpick, expl. arrow and ranger stealth and i could beat everyone. After claiming my battle tower i was transported to a new area(to a beach) with a lot of zixzax like creatures they were at the same level as i(21) but they cut me into pieces in no time. I could not do anything. After reading a few threads i reset my skills points and respent them to becime a mage. But same results. I didn't try close combat because i couldn't get close nough. I was so desperate i tried out a trainer. I pimped up all my stats to 90 and i maxed all the offensive skills (with heal and summon ghost). I approached the group and summoed my creature and my ghost. The ghost right away floated into the ocean and did not do anything. My creature was busy to take a piss every 2 second instead of taking or attacking. That's strange because it had a relatively good AI in broken Valley. But anyway i thought "no problem my unbeatable mage will kick butt" but no, it did not have a chance with good stats either. So what am i doing wrong? Maybe i did not complete a quest or i'm not supposed to kill those things? It's verry annoying. A little challenge is nice butt frustratingly hard gameplay is kind of weird. One more thing. How is it that no matter if i cast magic missile or magic blast or fireball the little creatures take damage but they did not get interrupted but when MY CHARACTER gets hit by any of their spell(no matter if it does fe. only 10 dmg) my character starts to sream, it looks like she almost fell on the ground, her spell gets interrupted, and makes a few stepps towards the monsters(so no chance to run away because if i face the monsters i make a few stepps towards them and if i stand back to them then i also make a few stepps closer to them. weird) Game with patch 1.3. Thanks for the help and sorry for the long post and the bad english.

Did you clear out the opponents on the mountain path, as well as the beach you can swim over to behind the anti-dragon defenses?

Trying to level in the fjords I also had trouble with the first group of level 21 imps when I was level 17, but only needed another 4k experience to reach level 18. I found the creature much more helpful after I switched from a level 6 warrior head to a level 2 ranger one (didn't have a mage head at the time). It was more aggressive as a ranger/mage, and also made a better shield, since it didn't move around as much. In Broken Valley there are not as many rangers/mages, so a warrior creature can do fine, even if it is slow to react sometimes, and doesn't use Rush Attack very often.

I have not played a ranger (or mage), so I'm not sure why you would be having that much trouble with a group of opponents the same level. Even if you hit and run back out of range, you should be able to whittle them down one or two at a time. Maybe try the Hide in Shadows skill, to get close enough to take out a few with explosive arrows.

I don't know. Maybe i just didn't had enough patience at first and now the trainer messed up my game?

A ranger isn't for sure too difficult to play after having your Battle Tower.
I play like a ranger on "high difficulty" and no problems with it wink
Explosive Arrows is great skill! Maybe a little bit overpowered, like Firewall & Magic Blast are too, but great biggrin
BUT: I play never a pure ranger/mage/warrior in a game, but I combined always skills from different types (my favorites are: all passive skills I like: Ranger Stealth, Bleed, Lockpick, Weapon Expertise-skills, Potion & Mana Efficiency, etc ... and active skills like: Magic Blast, Explosive Arrows, Firewall, Fireball & Poison Arrows (in the beginning), Wirlwind,...
Summon Demon & Stun Arrows & Battle Rage & Mindread(all 1 point from gear)!

wink

Now I'm level 25, having my Battle Tower when I was level 21 and give almost all my money on upgrading my runners :hihi: and planning to do NO "Unlearning all Skills"-mouvement ... and see this is possible to survive to the final end! delight
