So having read all three of the Eragon books twice (and the first one about 3 times), I've been kind of wondering if any of this game was inspired by those books. The one thing that caught my attention was that one of the Dragon Knights you are told about in conversation was named Brom, and I believe he was mentioned in the context of having taken down some bad guy.

If any of you know Eragon, you know how that is vaguely similar. So is this just a common RPG/Fantasy/Etc name for heroes or a nod to the Eragon series? And has anyone else noticed similar things?

I have not read the Eragon books, but Larian does put references to books, other games, music, etc in their games. There was a General Bram in Beyond Divinity, so it could have just been a variation on a common name, as well.

Blah, I hope not. I tried reading Eragon and fell asleep about one-third through.

I've read all three books it was half decent read but very very very very very very very....get the point? long especially if you read all three i think the name Brom is just a coincidence also the fact that both things are about dragon may stick in your head but hey i may be wrong only one person or rather one group can confirm this

Yeah the first book is kinda slow. The only reason I've read it three times is because the first time was for a book report, the I reread when the second came out, and then I reread all three again here recently.
