When the game came out i wasn`t too hyped about it, when i first got to test it out, i thouht of throwing the disc out of the window. But then.. I fell in love with the game, and i`m not forcing this, the game is completely insanely genious.
What are your thoughts?

Are you serious, you found this game that well made? I was so hyped about this game, being a big fan of Chris Avellone's previous work (Fallout 2, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale I&II, Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader (yes I did like this one too, mainly mp), SWKotOR II, Neverwinter Nights 2), I thought for sure this would be a smash hit.
Installed it, despite this crappy online activation, and I thought the character stats were not to bad but you can't customize your players looks. Then when game play started, wow, take me back 5 years and this is what I would expect to be playing. The graphics are horrible, movement/character animation is not at all fluid. The AI is not smart at all, they are so easy to hide from and kill. The hacking was fun though, I did like how they implemented that into the game, not like Mass Effects attempt which sucked. I'm going to keep playing it as the story is somewhat interesting so far but so far this is a big steamy piece of dog poop. $ @

Rofl. Well, i agree that graphics suck and the enemy AI is god awful, but what makes the game genious is that everything you do influences the further gameplay. C&C.

For once i completely agree with you Raven. Now knowing that DeusEx 3 is almost at the doorstep, this is like an apetizer before the main dish!

Alpha Protocol is fantastic. Yes, it does have a few issues, but no more than the original Mass Effect. And I enjoyed the first Mass Effect more than Mass Effect 2 due to the heavier RPG elements. Alpha Protocol is the same way. It has a dice roll combat system that I want in an RPG. Leveling up actually matters and you can see your skills improve immediately.
The story is well told and the voice acting is excellent. I love being a sarcastic badass.
The one really impressive thing in Alpha Protocol is how the dialogue can play out. You really shape the story. It offers so much replayabilty. I've already experienced 3 endings. But that's not the most impressive thing. You see immediate changes to the story and how it plays out according to how you play the game. You can completely miss characters the first time through according to your style of play and how you handle situations. The consequence of every action is so deeply integrated into the RPG systems and dialogue system that every encounter can vary greatly each time.
This is one for the ages. It's problematic in some areas, but most genre defining games are. For me, Alpha Protocol defines the TPS/Action/RPG genre more than Mass Effect ever did.
My Favorite RPGs: Divinity franchise, Gothic franchise (including Arcania, so I think I'm alone...), Venetica, Risen, Two Worlds II, The Witcher, Sacred franchise, Fallout franchise, Mass Effect 1, Alpha Protocol, Planescape: Torment, Drakensang, KOTOR 1 & 2, etc.

I enjoyed playing it, but for some reason can't bring myself to replaying it.

I enjoyed playing it, but for some reason can't bring myself to replaying it. I've played it 4 times so far, and the differences in the story and such, are radically different depending on your actions. It's amazing to see how many systems are running in the background. Despite its faults, none are big enough to take away from what is easily one of my favorite Action/RPG hybrids available.

An awesome, but flawed-gem. No game really takes "choice and consequence" to the extreme this game does - as it feels like every single decision really matters.
I think more so than anything, the game just needs a patch to mainly balance things.
We need to throw "hit and miss" dice-rolls out the window, since there is direct aiming and shooting mechanics involved. Also, Pistols are too weak.
Some skills are too powerful - such as Shadow Operative and The Mark/Execute pistol skill (I forget the name).
Also, since we got an Unlocked Cam here - I'd like a key to reposition the cam instantly behind Mike. A Toggle switch is a better idea, in which the player could toggle to keep the cam "Unlocked" or "Came Locked Behind Mike."
