Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Skill Levels gained by experience???

I noticed a bar fill up during the game in the skill menu. Would this bar fill up and level up all my skills in that group, or am I forced to use skill points on old skills?

if you mean the bar beneath the skill/spell name, then no. Only skill points, books, equipment or learning them as quest rewards will raise the skills.

What is the purpose of the Group bar and the individual bars under the skills?

Under the skills, it displays the skill level. For the group, there is no purpose. One of the early proposals in the game development was some kind of bonus if you learned all of the skills in a group, but it was never implemented.

He's talking about the bars in each Path (there being four Paths in every Way). The bar rises up to 8 out of 8 if you learn each Skill in that Path to at least level 1. But as Raze said, it was going to provide a bonus, but that was never implemented.

Also, can you please write posts that add something to the forum. This post is just one of several that have bugged me (and probably other members). Asking a question (other than WTF) would make more sense. We appreciate your enthusiasm in the forums, and I don't think that we should just leave all problems to Raze, but your posts just need a little care. No hard feelings! Thanks.

oh oh ooohhh.. that bar. I thought it was just an indicator of how many skills in that given path you were skilled in. Didn't know about anything else outside of that.

oh, now I get it (relaxed), I was wondering if I was going insane of something; almost went to the metally ill islamd, I'll go anyway. But, I wish there was a bonus.
