Well i bit the bullet and bought the game.
After install and put patch v1.3 in the game stutters like mad.
Now i'm not happy with this tbh,as i shelled out full price for a stutter show.

How did this ever get past the testing stage?

Now i really want to play this game but not in this state.
if it uses the same engine as fallout 3 and oblivion then i cannot see why it stutters like this as them two games run fine.

Yes my computer is powerfull to run it fine, and i have tried all the stuff ppl have said on this forum but still no joy.

I'm so angry atm as i'v spend over 7 hours trying all stuff to get it to run without the stutters.

Might take the game back to the store, but still after buying divine divinty, and beyond divinty,i'm a kinda loyal fan to this game.

So i'm asking now will this stutter get fixed once and for all.or do i take to game back to the store?
As in this state it's not playable at all.

Also tip, sack these play testers you're using as this is a very common bug that should have been spotted way before release tbh.

There are engine fixes and optimizations in the next patch (nothing official on the release date, but expected around the release of the add-on, which is this 'summer'), though I don't know if this specific issue is addressed.

Choppy game - possible fix

For people with stuttering graphics

Thats why i'm asking is the engine update able to fix the stuttering.

Well first off, we don't know your system spec's and if it has the latest video drives (video card manufacturer site will have the updates). For all we know, you got Windows 7 with 2gb ram and onboard video would would make it run as slow as a tortuous running up a steep hill.

What your experiencing is not a common issue.

of course it's a common prob just search google for a fix see how many threads turn up.

I can run dragon age/fallout 3/bad company 2 all max no probs.
Also i have 4 gig ram as well as Core 2 Duo E4700.
it's not like the graphics are intensive on this game.
Also everything updated from bios to sound card/graphics card drivers.nivida 197XX
Also it's a desktop computer, just in case you say is it a laptop.

Also i'm not stupid to complain on a forum if i knew my computer was to low spec to play it.
Also raz has posted link to the stutter so it is knowen ppl are getting it.

That's weird, it may be software you are having problems with.

Also, I haven't read all the replies in this thread (a lil to tired) but I'll just give you a few tips to (possibly) fix it.

- Start messing with graphics settings, because I was trying to run Divinity II on "Extreme" and even though I have a decent computer, it couldn't handle it. Switching it to "High" fixed that problem, I also disabled anti-aliasing and bloom (Not sure if bloom is available though, like I said. to tired to look right now :P )

- Update your drivers

- Reinstall Divinity II unpatched try it and if it still doesnt work then patch it to 1.1, if it still doesnt work to 1.2 etc etc. Untill you hit 1.3 (It's at that version right now IIRC)

For the record, I have a 8800GTX, which is, even though it's a little outdated now, not a bad graphics card. and even though I can run games like Oblivion/Crysis/Dragon Age on extreme it didn't work on this game. I guess this game is just heavier on graphics.

But "High" worked just fine, so I suggest you try that.

Is your video card onboard or an actual pci-x card?

Does the game stutter with the bare minimal graphic settings? If it runes smooth, just keep adding stuff to figure what settings are causing the stutter. In the reviews, there are a few settings that sites complained that caused issues for them. Fortunately all those settings being disabled to get smooth game play were not missed. Think the one was enhancements to plants or something.

nivida 8800gtx pci-e.
It will stutter no matter what setting i put them on.
Strange tbh as it should run smooth.

if i put them all on high and set the exe to high priority it does run a little better, but still i can see the stutters.

Shame as i kinda like the look of this game, but atm it plays as if it was on a 486 machine frown
