Direct X - 9.0c Updated by Divine Divinity 2 and Patch 1.3

Here is a list of some minor technical issues that I have found in Divine Divinity 2. None of these are game stoppers and some have work arounds. They are posted here as General Knowlege with the hope that the issue may be noticed by the patch team or their Representatives. Any resolutions to these issues would be nice, but not required by myself.

Technical Issues:

1) On minor occasions when opening chest,boxes, containers I have had experienced flashes of the last part of the intro move (Speed Tree). Work Around: Renamed video intro move so it does not play.

2) On one occasion while exiting a building, the graphics became corrupt. Work Around: Quit game and restart, reload save game.

3) On minor occasions it becomes problematic when trying to save a game. The save game process becomes very slow and normally repeated clicking is required to execute a successful game save. Work Around: Quit game and restart, reload save game.

4) AI on all enemies needs to be improved. Enemies without long range weapons (Bow, magic) become confused if you are at a position where they can not reach you. Sometimes they just stand there a let you fire (Long Range) at them with no reactions at all. A better script for enemies without long range capabilities would be nice.

5) NO Falling Damage . No matter what height you jump or fall from, you will never die or take damage. Most unrealistic.

6) Never Ending Load Screen. On minor occasions I will get the never ending loading screen. Work Around: Quit game and restart, reload save game.

1) That is strange.. maybe a clean re-install of the game would help? It sounds like something may have gotten corrupt.


5) Being able to fall safely from heights is part of being a dragon slayer (people who attack flying creatures and can not take a fall don't last very long). Levitation strong enough to control descent is at least as reasonable as transforming into a dragon, which nobody seems to have a conceptual problem with, or huge rocks floating in the sky and forming flying fortresses.

LOL, I'll give you Number 5 - I like your response, so now I'll change my plea to having the game designers add a in-game explination of the Slayers ability to survive falls smile

7) On minor occasions character and FX sounds will turn off (But Music stays on). Realtek onboad sound with up to date drivers. Work Around: Quit game and restart, reload save game.

8) On minor occasions it becomes impossible to exit to windows (Patch 1.3 installed). Work Around: CTRL+ALT+DEL and shut down game manually.

9) On minor occasions game will crash to desktop (Patch 1.3 installed). Work Around: restart & reload saved game.

Well I have finally finished the Game. A Good Game, but one that needs to be worked on because of all the minor tech issues.

I will say, the ending battle is a little over the top. The fact that I died before my fingers made it to the keyboard is a little to much. Had it not been for the fact that I could save every 10 seconds and take advantage of the A.I glitch ( Sometimes NPCs lose track of your location and/or have problems navigating to you ) I could have never finished the Ending battle. I had at least 50 reloads approx.

A Good game, A fun Game, A great Idea and story line. Could have been the game of the year, had it not been released with all the issues.

While I am happy that Larian is working on the issues, with proper testing, most of these isuues could have been avoided before going out the door. I would have easily paid 50 US for this game had it not had all the bugs. Instead of the 29.00 US I paid for it.

A Good review always helps sales, and this game had some negative reviews because of the tech issues.
