Why is this game so difficult? lol, I dont mean story wise, but battle wise. I have done every quest in the first village (Even reading guide to make sure!) and if a group of 2 skeletons attacks me I get all f***** up by them. Anyway to make my character really strong fighting wise or any good ways to make my character better so he isnt such a p****?

What level, and type of character are you?

Try a different direction. There are likely other areas with opponents more suited to your level. The first time you start hitting level 7 and 8 skeletons they are generally too tough to fight in groups, without hit and run tactics, etc, especially because at that point you are probably only level 6 or 7.

You may be able to use a bow to draw opponents to you, so they will hopefully be spread out a little more than if you go to them.

Level 1 of Evade is handy for melee combat (higher levels don't give as much of a bonus per skill point).

Newbie needs help, I think I missed something!

Did you CLEAR out all THREE of the caves? Pick as much ginseng as you can and find the Broken Valley ALCHEMIST. Get a bunch of health potions.

Reminds me very much of my own problems.

Don't play an archer, unless you want to be extra careful and want some extra challenge.

It gets a bit better if a) you can summon something as well, b) have a few things ready for close combat.
Because at one point they WILL come close ...

And, by the way, make surte you don't actually forget raising your stats and skills ... Even with items ...

An archer isn't too difficult wink

But like Alrik say:
"have a few things ready for close combat" and yes, that's for sure necessary,
especially if you are unpatient or absend-minded :hihi:

Rangers are actually pretty good aslong as u use the monstor u can summon.....cause once u summon the monstor and when they get close enough to melee u..... u run away and ur monstor deals with them.

Not trying to rob the thread or anything, but I am new too and even though I am getting better an better with the combat system, I seem to find myself standing around waiting forever for my health to refill. It seems the more potions I need the less and less I am able to find, and the fact that I cannot acquire healing magic until level 15 is very annoying. Anyways... What I am getting at, is where can I find more potions or acquire more potions in broken valley. I thought someone said something about an alchemist in broken valley, where is he located? I am level 10 and I still haven't found out how to make potions or a summoned creature.

The alchemist can be found in the cellar of the miller's house in the Broken Valley village. Each time you level up you can also go check various merchants who can carry food and potions.

For the creature you need to talk to the necromancer (in a cave above and north of the destroyed chapel in the starting section of Broken Valley, near where there is a teleporter shrine and a teleporter pad that asks for a password), and then find a crystal skull, in a mine in the far west of Broken Valley, south of the enchanter and fortune teller (I reached the enchanter on level 12, and made it to 13 clearing the black ring members in the area south of there).

I was lucky enough to find a formula for level 10 healing aura in the cellar of the enchanter's house (with a bit of reloading), and adding that to two pieces of jewelry really made a difference at that level. Any healing aura requires a relatively rare malachite gem, though several are available for purchase or as quest rewards in Broken Valley, and if you reload at malachite viens it wouldn't be terribly hard to get a couple dozen throughout the game. For non-healing auras, the effect of level 9 is almost the same as level 10 (which require a malachite gem), but they only need relatively common ingredients, so that was all I used.

If you are playing a warrior, level 1 of Life Leech should help (not sure what the level requirements are for the Regenerate skill are).

Thanks for the prompt and precise responses guys. If I may hijack the thread one more time, where is the enchanter located Raze? I am having difficulty finding him as well as the fortune teller. :\

The enchanter is to the far west of Lovis' tower and then north. The fortune teller is south of the enchanter, west of the lake (on the map, follow the river west south west of the lake, and the fortune teller is on the northern bank near the end).
