You got a book of magic that can control wind when you rescued the guy on the top of the pillar (near the trainer Kenneth). There is a windy spot near where you start on the island with a tombstone and three candles...

If you don't pick your servants before entering the tower, they will be chosen for you.

Usually if you just keep exploring you will come across people or things that you need, without having to know where they are in advance. Some quest locations are marked on the map, though.

Have you finished off everything else on the island, and in Broken Valley (other than one quest in each area that can be left until later)? You could clear out some of the beginning of the fjords to level. Temporary boost potions, your creature and/or a summon, etc, could also help with that fight.

There are different traditions in C-RPGs : Some are "free form", exploring is the main thing, (Divinity is of such a kind), others are what I know as "railroading", others don't give the player's character no possibilities of decisions at all (jRPGs ?).

When you find a big kettle of crazy, it's best not to stir it.
