Okay, did I turn the corner to the evil side and did not know it or forgot a quest that ends in saving the day and not destroying the world and being locked in a crystal????? smile.

I thouroughly enjoyed this game, played constantly until the end, the end was terrible, abruptly ending with no option of escape or fighting Damian. So is this some kind of german jest that I did not get?? I was born in Baumholder so I don't remember this type of humor although it has been a while since I lived in Germany.

If this is going to be one of those series that goes on and on with no true ending then I doubt that I am going to get the sequel I will watch the forum to see if the next game actually ends.

Did anyone else find the ending dissatisfying?? The last fight with the paladins was wild and fun even at level 34 I had to run, jump and shoot or I got my arse kicked. Finally got the battle won with my pet.

There is only one ending, though you continue from that point in the upcoming add-on FoV (or DKS, the remastered D2:ED release including FoV).

I liked the ending, but there were lots and lots of people who didn't (some of which were ok with it once the add-on was announced).

Ending is a MAJOR disappointment.

smile I know I loved the end fight it was one of the toughest in the whole game I was laughing as I was running around the small room hitting charm, fireball and potions. I guess that I did not understand that saving Damian's lover would do all this and there was no hints to this. So there was no choice on the player's part. I understand that they are going to do an add on, do you know when by the way, and I look forward to that.

I really liked the game, I love games like this more than first person shooters. I look forward to the next version and how they are going to get us out of the Hall crystal.

Thanks for the help through this game Raze, and the comments it has been a pleasure. Keep on gaming and keep your armor strong.

The non-German releases of the add-on Flames of Vengeance for PC should be out in October; exact dates have not been announced. The Dragon Knight Saga, a remastered version of D2:ED with the add-on included, will be released at the same time for PC and Xbox. Slightly more detail is included throughout the (long) topic Another status update.

I liked the ending. but i kinda wish that the player can continue with all the things and stats they have. like being able to go back to broken vally when it was still walkable. oh also does anyone know when the add-on will come out in english?

Sorelle;
FoV and DKS should be released in October (English being one of the non-German releases silly ).

Jereth;
If you didn't save during the last fight, you will need to redo it. I have a save before taking out the memory of Zandalor (he lasted the longest), as well as one before entering the Hall of Echoes, in case I want or need to revert back for some reason.

Presumably you will at least keep the equipment and inventory you have with you. Nothing has been mentioned about the battle tower or items in the chest, though I don't see any reason for cutting off access to them.

Games like this are hard to come by. I sometimes search hard to find a game with depth like this and usually it is old games that were made back in the 1990's or earlier.

Signs go to a release even earlier. http://www.rpgwatch.com/show/newsbit?newsbit=15376

I suspect that one of the things which was might have been cut for time was doing a full-on ruined version of Broken Valley. I think it might be that Larian didn't have the time or money to do that in as much detail as they wanted, so they just covered it over with fog and new terrain. But I don't think that FoV will change that even if they originally intended destroyed Broken Valley to be more detailed.

If it wasn't done that way, it would have spread the story line out too much. It is best to have that whole section of the game cut and make you move on.

Got the game a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised with the graphics and game play. Everything was going good up to the fight in the dream phase to save Damian's love. Killed Zandalor and POOF! right to a cut scene where I learn I was crystallized and game over. Probably one of the dumbest endings I have ever seen in a MMORPG. If it wasn't for the fact that I just read there is a sequel coming out in October, I would have sent Larian a "nice" email about getting new help for writers in the storyline dept. Still wouldn't be a bad idea...

There was a saying in my college writing class that is very true and pertains to even storylines in games. If you take a story and liken it to a running faucet, you NEVER just turn the water (story) off all at once. And that's what happened at the end of the game.

Hopefully, the expansion is worth it after the frustration of that ending.

The ending was delightful, but I can see how those who are used to Hollywood endings might not appreciate it. Still: even Empire Strikes Back had a similar downbeat ending.

For a series, having downbeat endings on some episodes is a *very good* thing.

I had one hell of a lot of nitpicks with the game, but the ending definitely wasn't one.
