I played Ego Draconis when it came out for Xbox 360 in Europe, and I even got 1000/1000 achievements.

Now I hear that my Ego Draconis copy can't run Flames of Vengeance on the 360, and I need to buy the game again in order to play the expansion. I don't like it. Especially since I was one of the few who supported the game on the 360 back then. It is a wonder, that we who bought Ego Draconis for the 360 and thereby supported further development, are the ones who pays the largest price. Not nice...

Anyway - will I at least be able to get the 1000 achievement points for Ego Draconis again and whatever extra for Flames of Vengeance in the Dragon Knight Saga, and not just the new Flames of Vengeance achievements?

Will the achievements for the old Ego Draconis and the new enhanced Ego Draconis even be the same?

Larian has not stated if DKS achievements will be separate, or equivalent to the original ones for the D2:ED section, plus any additional achievements for the FoV section.

I can understand you, it is "not nice", but I'm afraid Larian didn't have another choice ! It was the only solution, otherwise they must skip the xbox version for FoV !! That would be much more sadly !

I play also Divinity II on xbox and okay, now I shall pay more 'goldcoints' for the Dragon Knight Saga for Xbox !
Maybe many years later I'm happy I played the NOT remastered version for Ego draconis, who knows???

I hope all the achievements go to zero on my xbox and I can begin over again ... but if it's not so ... it will be so. More important for me is that Ego Draconis will be fine tuned, more balanced ... !

Why withhold information on how the achievements will work? That does not seem like a big secret to me.

Yes they say they didn't had a choice, but maybe Larian could award the owners of the original Ego Draconis with some fancy exclusive avatar gear or something. Put it on the Saga disc and check for old savegames when running. That would be relatively easy to implement and a nice gesture to those, that has to pay for the game twice.

They are not withholding information, they just have not announced it yet. Maybe they will comment next week when they get back from vacation, or perhaps that will be included with various updates leading up to the release, intended to draw attention to the game.

I agree spif ... I was saying this earlier on this forum : give xbox players of Ego Draconis some "extra" ... a beautiful poster or postcards of the Saga or ... a cd with some game music or some extra content .... whatever ...
For me it must not been big ! A little present is already a nice initiative/gesture they make for saying :
"We understand your feelings about this matter ... give you something extra ... "

Maybe we could get a pimped out set of dragon armor or a fancy, new weapon. It would be nice if they would do it like a lot of the retailer specific promo items that so often accompany games when preordered and slip a code inside the front cover or use ED saves/achievements as the trigger, like spif mentioned.

What is so great about these achievements? Do you get extra armor or a better ending with them?

Not normally, no. Although I have seen achievements award stuff like character upgrades on the xbox console main screen.

Im not certain, but the sword "blight blood" may be achievement related...or is that always awarded after completing the Dragon Age Origins: Awakening dlc?


Mainly tho, achievements offer minor goals with atleast some form of recognition. It may not be much, but I find it enjoyable to do a second play through while placing emphasis on getting certain achievements.

An ekstra question if you please.

Since I already has played the game twice, I thought of going through DKS' Ego Draconis part 'quickly' and bag all possible achievements before starting FoV.

I took a look at the achievements and found that all the old ones save 2 are still there. The One for completing the game and the one for reaching level 30 has been scrapped. I made the following PDF, so I could mark every one when getting them, and hopefully not miss any.

The achievements under the Flames of Vengeance headline are all new, but I'm not sure they all belong in FoV. I don't want to go to the Hall of Echoes, if I have missed something. Can anyone tell me which of them can be obtained in ED and which must be taken in FoV?

...and is it possible to go back into the Orobas Fjords and get missing quests and achievements from ED in FoV?

on x360 big bunny must be done before 4th floor of Tower. there are no bunnies in Orobas Fjords.

In FoV part of achies, two of them you can make earlier - one with Ygerna, and you can collect up one item set early in the game.

Only two of FoV part achies are not story based, plus two from which you obtain only one of them through one pass.

You cannot go back to ED afaik.

I'll try collection the Scorpion or Archmage set on my rampage through the flying fortresses then. I already bagged the Bunny before going into Maxos temple, so no worries there. And the Ygerna achievements I can do during FoV.

I don't mind going through FoV a couple of times, but going through ED multiple times would become tiresome in the end, when I know where everything is.

Just received Two Worlds II, so I'm switching between the two games at the moment, with Two Worlds II being the most played since it's all new. But I'll be back in the Fjords before long.

SO, does the Xbox 360 version of DNS have a whole different set of achievements totaling 1000 points?

Im sure its been answered elsewhere, but ive been avoiding like the plague posts that could contain any possible spoilers. Heh, i skipped about 3 posts above that contained them

Yes, the achievements in DKS are a new set giving you another 1000 points. It is really considered as another game on your XBox profile.

However, some achievements in the list are similar to the ones in Ego Draconis.

Finally got 1000/1000 yesterday. Yay!

I don't think I'll play this game again though, since I have completed the Ego Draconis part 3 times now, and FoV does not have much replay value imo.
