I was posting a few days back on RPGWATCH about this title. Apparently it's getting a PS3 release, which means it'll be region-free and us North American folks can give it a go. I've had my eyes on this one for a while, but I gave up after waiting so long and there was no news about a localization. So the fact that it's now getting released on the PS3, I'm wondering if it's worth importing from Amazon.de Marketplace.

Have any of you played this one and what are your thoughts? I have enjoyed Deck 13's Jack Keane and Ankh titles in the past.

My Favorite RPGs: Divinity franchise, Gothic franchise (including Arcania, so I think I'm alone...), Venetica, Risen, Two Worlds II, The Witcher, Sacred franchise, Fallout franchise, Mass Effect 1, Alpha Protocol, Planescape: Torment, Drakensang, KOTOR 1 & 2, etc.

It's rather like an action-RPG, I heard, but it looks very much like the graphics style of DEck 13. Plus, the settings and everything looks rather new-ish to me. An RPG in Venice ? Okay, it isn't the real-world-Venice, of course.

I have only played a demo last year on the GamesCom, and I liked it. It was definitively kind of action-driven, but - to me, really personally - it also had a nice feeling of "adventure" to it.

Apart from that I can't say much more about it.

If I were you, I'd look here, too : http://forum.dtp-entertainment.com/viewforum.php?f=159

I play it awhile back on xbox and I find it a nice game, but it have his pro's and contra's.
The general gameplay is okay: the control system of the gamepad learned fast (intuitive) and the game isn't too difficult (maybe for some gamers too easy?) ... the skilltree I find not so fun.

The gameworld is not so big, but it have beautiful views ! wink

I haven't play the whole game. Many xbox players say the game have "gamebreaking BUGS" (disappearing NPC's!), but so far I play I haven't discovered bugs! So maybe I'm a lucky one or I have another version??
And I think the PS 3 may not have bugs (I hope!) ... But I find it bad frown the dev's (or whatever) don't make a good patch for the xbox players with gamebreaking bugs! (in real contrast they make a PS 3 version !)

I played the demo the day before yesterday, and I found it nice - but it definitvely needs a *strong* PC to handle it !

Point is that it uses the OGRE engine, which - I read in the forums - might need too much computing power for an RPG.

Usually, Deck 13 does Adventure games, in which is this resource factor isn't that important/heavy.

On my Xbox I haven't that problem with "requirements" :hihi:

If you find this game for Xbox (or PS 3 - soon or already out on PS 3?) or a reasonable price, go for it and see how you like this game.
Forgot to say earlier: in Venetica you can put on/off a Questmarker.

Thank you so much for the feedback, Alrik and Joram. It's very much appreciated.

I really can't wait to check this game out now. smile

Wait - when is this game getting an English version release?
Does it even have a publisher in the USA?
What about UK?

Link to PS3 version:

And it's also rumored that Atari will bring it to the US:

And Mastertronic will bring it to the UK.

There are English versions released in Benelux since February 2010, or somesuch. It's an okay game, but the story & characters are a bit lacking imo.

I can't believe it's not out yet in UK or US.

Well, if no publisher wants the game ... Then it's their ( the publisher's ) fault.
Maybe they believe no-one would buy it.
Because it contains too less "action".

Welcome to the "Age Of Action" (AOA). wink

I'm loving this game. It's got so much quirky charm.

i wanted to love this game but it has some serious game breaking bugs, i have the full patched version and i still have two quests i cannot complete, if you get and play it i recommend doing full saves before every quest else you wont be able to continue, it runs sluggish at times on my quadcore pc down to 25fps, unlike divinity i get 60fps full spec and Devil may cry 4 a whopping 256 fps, so its all down to the code!
a great game idea and i love the combat etc and the lock picking is brilliant but approach with caution!

The game is built upon the "Ogre Engine", and this is mainly built for adventure games, not for fast-paced action games.
