Hey all

I am starting this game again because i am getting anoyed with dieing at the part i am up to on my other character.
I always wanted to make a warrior but i am not good with the skills or stats. i know that putting some skill points in regenerate and life drain are important for surival and putting points in strength for health regain is good too. but what other skills are a MUST for a warrior to surive.

I want to be the type of warrior who doesnt die. on my other character i keept dieing and it gets anoying after a while. i know that we all die sometime but i want a build so that when i get to higher lvls and more difficult encounters that i wont die.

some topics i have read about warrior builds have people saying about how they like never get bellow 95% health. Thats what i want. I want to be able to run into a group of people and kill them without the fear of being ganked, having to use all my potions and die......

Thank you to anyone who can help me with this. =D

I would also like to see a good warrior build, especially a dual wield build (be nice to have two weapons with cool stats), I'm curious as to which classes you found hard to survive with though.

I have a Mage and the only time I get killed is because I am sussing out groups that are higher level than I am, trying to kite a couple away to deal with on their own (basically being stupid smile ), but anything my level I just instapwn them.

It would be nice to have a "Builds" section on the forum, almost every RPG forum has one.

Hi,

If I was you and start a warrior type, I put first of all statpoints into Vitality! I experienced earlier going into melee combat this is a very dangerous way to loose fast your healthpoints!! Okay, you can drink potions, but I understand it is stupid you must drink many many potions (and still going die)... and so it is no fun anymore!
I played already Ego Draconis to the end and I played never a full warrior, but use also a bow and spells.
But say, I must go for a warrior type, I take a two-handed sword (later in the game) and first try to find good weapons of different type to try out and find my favorite that sweets me best.

Skills, it's also personal(!), I choose if I go warrior:
Wirlwind : handy if to many enemies surrounded you. Use it and jump backwards or forwards away from the group of enemies.
Some of the Dragon Slayer Skills? Like Weapon Expertise ...
Summon Ghost: he heals you, so can come in handy? (I never used this, but wish to try this skill next time)
Summon Undead: for a "help" in battle? But I find Summon Demon better choice. (required level 20!)
Wisdom: for more XP-points, so you wish to level up a little bit faster? I personal don't use Wisom.
Jump Attack (req L 3) maybe?
Hide in Shadows (req L 3): can be helpful to escape very dangerous moments... and rest behind a rock or big tree and drink and eat something...
Evade (req L 10): sure for a warrior very handy)
Life Leech (req L 10!): is helpful, but yeah, you must first survive earlier 9 levels wink ...
Master Herbalist (req L 15): you can make health potions with less ingredients!
Regenerate (req L 15): to regenerate your HP faster
Healing (req L 15): through magical way (mana cost) you can heal yourself!

I too wish to survive and not going death too much ! I hope I can make it, because I wish to play this game hardcore (something like dying = Game Over) :hihi:

Vitality and Strength I think are the most imporatant stats to invest your first points in if you didn't wish to die fast. Strength is also good for handle more powerful melee weapons and for your Melee Resistance smile.

Other than maxing your weapon expertise of choice (I played a duel wielding warrior), get Bleed up to level 10.
For non-combat skills I maxed Lockpick as soon as I could, and after getting the battle tower, maxed Mana Efficiency (helpful for awhile, but probably not necessary), mostly so I could summon the creature and still have enough mana left over to heal if I needed to.
I had lots of 'level 1 is good enough' type skills: Mana Leech (put a point in later in the game, when I had plenty to spare), Healing (learned as soon as I could), Evade, Whirlwind and Rush Attack (I had it up to level 4 before reskilling after getting the battle tower). I put 1 point in Potion Efficiency before the battle tower, and maxed it afterwards (which was unnecessary, and I probably wouldn't do so again).

yeh all these tips will help me surive better than before. everytime i make a warrior class i keep getting owned by people like 1-2 lvl higher than me. getting healing spell i will make a must and also get 1-2 points into mana leach so that i have no real need for potions anymore. I read the guide someone posted a few days ago about all the locations of skill books and stat books. all togetger there was somthing like 43 extra points i could get. THATS HEAPS and would mean i can max out the more inportant skills and still have points for skills that arnt required but would have some bonus. i have used the summon demon skill before and it is actually pretty handy. at lower levels i might invest a point or 2 in the healing summon. that should help me surive.

if anyone has any other tips to add i would apreciate it.

Thanks

Warrior skills....
Max regenerate (11 or 12 by level 34)
Max evade (11 or 12 by level 34)
Max your preferred expertise (Personal favorite was dual wield. Looks cool, and the description makes you sound BADASS!) (Level 13 at 34)
Max reflect, later in the game nothing hurts you anyway. Except for the Divine and the wizard. (Is a must for final battle.) (Level 10 by 34)
5 levels into Potion Efficiency.
Then you should have around 5-10 extra points to put into what ever.
Appearantly thousand strikes is said to be good, though I have not used it.
you shouldn't need a summon other then your creature, since you are the tank use a MAGIC creature... Magic missle owns.

As for skills make them somewhat well rounded.... 30-40 for intelligence and dexterity but spirit is up to you... You shouldn't need any magic. If you do find armour with mana addition.
Get your strength to about 50-60.
And the rest into vitality.

This was my build and have little trouble.
I didn't use any sort of magic attack like whirlwind or anything I didn't really find a need too. As long as your moving you can kill everything fine with SOLELY normal melee.
Hope this helps.

If you are doing ok, then that was the right thing to do. I started off distributing stat points relatively evenly at first, then concentrated more on strength and dexterity. Playing again I'd neglect intelligence and spirit and see if I could get away with a lower magic resistance.

Help with attribute point distribution (and skills)

At the end of the game (level 36) I had 39 unused stat points (wouldn't want it to get too easy), and without equipment had 31 vitality, 5 spirit, 47 strength, 25 dexterity and 25 intelligence.
I wasn't deliberately keeping Intelligence and Dexterity the same. I boosted Intelligence some to help with the magic armour rating and mana refill rate, then later used the Potion of Wisdom (+5 int). Dexterity was always less that Strength, but before the end game I had several extra points due to equipment bonuses. I boosted Vitality to around 20 and was going to stop, but trying to take out the level 27 guards in the quarry building before getting the battle tower, I figured extra hit points would help, and put the spare 10 stat points I had into Vitality.

Well I have started a new character, a melee class and though I found Mage quite easy, I expected that, as people said that the game favoured classes Mage > Ranged > Melee, but I am killing stuff much faster with melee (so far anyway), compared to my experience as a Mage.

Of course this could also be due to the fact I am more in-tune with the games mechanics, but it does seem easier so far.

This was my stats going into the Hall of Echoes.
Numbers on the left are with equipment on and the right are without!

HP- 926 / 602
MANA- 351 / 196
Vitality- 76 / 58
Spirit- 3 / 0
Strength- 84 / 70
Dexterity- 21 / 13
Intelligence- 15 / 9

Damage- 464-644 / 72-87
Melee res.- 60.53% / 27.97%
Ranged res.- 29.65% / 6.73%
Magic res.- 20.85% / 4.75%
Condition- 75% / 70%
H. Reflex.- 24% / 13%
I. Will- 43% / 9%

No problems other then a "few" needed health potions when fighting the Divine.
