So I just recently bought the game from D2D because they had it half off -- anyway.. So I used Comrade Client to download it and ran the installation and put my key in the online authentication but the game doesn't launch...

I double-click the launch exe and the game "boots" but it doesn't do anything. Just a black screen, and in task manager says it's unresponsive.

But here is the weird part... If I launch the game via the Comrade client it works perfectly. No where in the agreement or with ANY of my other games does it require me to run those games with the Comrade client.

Next issue.. Is it a bug or a glitch or something when it comes to frame rates? I can put the games on the lowest settings ever and still get frame issues... I'm well above the recommended yet the game runs as if I barely meet them at times.

Anyway if anyone could shed some light it would be much apprecitaed, other than my complaints I like the game so far.

My hardware --

AMD Phenon II X4 935 3.0ghz
Dual ATI 5770 Cards/1GB GDDR5 memory/Latest Driver
Asus Xonar D1 Sound Card
4GB DDR3 A-DATA RAM X Series 2.0
Latest Direct X
Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate

I'm not familiar with D2D, so don't know what Comrade would be doing differently than launching the game directly. Have you tried contacting them, as well?

Have you tried right clicking on the divinity2.exe file, or a shortcut to it, and running it as administrator? In the compatibility options you could also try disabling desktop composition.

Maybe some of the suggestions in the topic Never ending loading screen. 100% of the time. could help, though it is not the same issue.

Hey. I've tried running the Exe directly as administrator, and tried comparability mode. I have not contacted D2D yet but I will.

Comrade client simply launches the game the same why as I would by double clicking the exe. I've even went into the main folder and double-clicked the launcher exe and still no loading screen.

I wouldn't think it would be a Comrade issue because all the other games I've purchased from D2D don't require the client to play.

Oddly enough the FPS limiter thing works and runs the game....

Weird I can't run the game by itself....

Strange... apparently Comrade and FPS Limiter are doing something different than directly running the divinity2.exe file.

Did that help with the performance?

A slight performance increase, I was reading around should I disable Crossfire for this game? Not sure if running the game with just one card would improve performance or not. I wouldn't think so, unless this game wasn't developed to utilize dual GPUs.

Not sure why I can't launch the game by itself. Comrade and the FPS limiter launch it fine, but launching the exe itself results with a black screen.

The game doesn't support Crossfire / SLI, so it couldn't hurt to try disabling it.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. Wish the game was developed to support dual GPUs. The game runs fine though, still stutters on occasion, I disabled crossfire and the performance is about the same as it was before really.

With the FPS limiter thing it did make it run smoother. I'd say at times I'm getting 40 fps at best on max settings at 1920x1080 resolution, at worst 20-25 fps. Still playable, just a little annoying but not game breaking.

If the game supported dual GPUS that would be great.

As for the game not launching whenever I run the game by itself, I have no idea why it doesn't. Comrade runs it fine, the FPS limiter runs it fine and even Xfire will launch it! It's weird, but I guess it could be a bug or something with the digital versions with my current setup (Possibly W7 64 bit?).
