I've got a work-around, in the form of an old save, but I thought this was worth reporting:

I'm now doing the (wretched; dragon form has REALLY turned me off of Divinity, because being one-shot just sucks) entry Hall of Echoes stuff. I've been saving and returning to my Throne Room pretty much obsessively. One of the more recent times I went back to my battle tower, I appeared there as a Dragon. I went back to the Hall of Echoes, but appeared as a human. Now, I appear as a human. Everywhere. An attempt to use my stone in any location returns "You cannot shape-shift here."

I've just had a lovely stroll along the floor of the Hall of Echoes. And I'll have to go back an hour, to before I took out two Nest Daises, to hit the last time I was able to be a Dragon. Which I'm honestly not keen on doing.

Forum members and the support team here are quick and friendly, but the number of game-stopping bugs I've encountered is really astonishing.

What level are you? It took awhile for me to get the hang of dragon combat, but there were always human areas to level up in first, making the dragon combat easier. By the time I got to the Hall of Echoes I was level 36, so the initial memory eaters couldn't do significant damage.

Another..Hall of Echoes question - first dragon section

Entering the Hall of Echoes is suppose to be a one way trip; you shouldn't have been able to return to the battle tower, in human or dragon form.

If you return to the battle tower, can you take the teleporter to the Red Hammer tribe teleporter and re-enter the Hall of Echoes from there? By design the sections of the Hall of Echoes are exclusively dragon or human, so transformation is disabled, and it was the auto 'return to human' when teleporting back to the battle tower that messed things up.

Hmm, interesting. Nothing warned about the one-way-ness of it all, and I'd thought being able to go back and forth was normal. (And a good thing, because I needed an extra, like, 70 health potions.)

The teleporters out of the battle tower don't work so I'd assumed that I was meant to be able to retreat and heal but not to go anywhere else.

When I stop being monitor-punching irritated with it I'll go back to a pre-hall-of-echoes save I guess; something seems to have gone drastically wrong with that one. And as for leveling up, no dice. :-/ I'm at about 35.5 and there is literally no quest left incomplete or mob left unkilled that I can find anywhere. I respawned that flying fortress with the door and statues twice before but got bored with it.

The memory eaters... I don't even know what it is, I have my "auto pause if life points low" feature set wicked high now (I didn't bother using it for most of the game) and it never even gets a chance to kick in. In Dragon form I have something like 1300 and change HP, and I go from 1000-ish to 0 before I even get a chance to hit pause. I'd been progressing through the Hall of Echoes by compulsively saving and popping back to the battle tower each time I managed to take out a Nest Dais.

In light of this new information, I suppose this post should actually be called "Bug: I can go back to Battle Tower after entering Hall of Echoes!"

There is no explicit warning about not being able to return from the Hall of Echoes, but the dragon Patriarch did hint things didn't go well for Maxos, the only other person able to enter alive.

At level 36 (1265 hit points, with the +40% HP and +40% offense armour pieces equipped) I was pretty much invulnerable to the level 30 memory eaters. At level 35 you should be fine as well, not getting one shot killed; presumably whatever messed up in that save effected your resistances, or something.
The first time I went through that area I think I did take some damage attacking the nests, but later reloading a save to check something, I ended up siting next to a commander in the middle of a group of memory eaters getting regular attacks and the occasional Fire Sphere setting me on fire, but never took any damage.

AFAIK, from the walkthrough, etc, this should be the case. Actually trying the dragon stone myself, though (US Xbox release), I found I could return to the battle tower in the 2 dragon sections of the Hall of Echoes (no problems re-entering in dragon form), but not from either human section.
