what is the best endgame weapon for a survivor? so far, i've made two chars in the game, both warriors, a male & a female. just to test different skills for them and know what works best & what skills suck. i'm kind of intrigued by the survivor class, and i'm not too eager to build a mage. don't like the idea of casting spells all over the place making the screen look like armaggedon and then hide behind summons/minions.

so for my 3rd char, i'm planning to make a survivor, but i can't find a guide about building one that will make it all the way through.

any help pls.?

For a survivor, your best bet is to put almost all of your stat points into dexterity in the very beginning, which raises your defense and offense, and use a shortbow or longbow, since these will have high damage (makes up for your lack of strength), and also you can shoot enemies from a distance. The skills you should focus on in the beginning should be somewhat combat-related, but since only a few of them open up for you when you're lower level, just go for lockpicks (don't put more than 3), meteorstrike (not more than 2), enchant weapon (try to max it), and maybe something fun like deadly gift (cheesy but fun ).

When you level up a bit more, around 10+ level, begin to focus more on strength, put about 2 in strength and 3 in dexterity each time you level up. I found that this combination works best since you will be needing to melee more and more. Also, some better weapon choices will open up to you this way, like swords, claymores and later on axes. I preferred my survivor wielding a one-handed sword with a shield, but you don't have to do that if you think the Nobleman's sword or the Sword of Gods way later on isn't really worth it... (I do ). Now you want to think about some melee-oriented skills like augment defense, augment damage, spirit damage, fire damage, sword (or maybe another weapon) expertise, and maybe identify if you like reloading for better stats (and don't want to go to a merchant every time you reload ).

Basically, in the beginning, go for ranged attacks, and later on when you're tougher and can stand in a fight, use melee to your fullest. Use sneak only to steal from people (make sure they can't see you first) and merchants, as the skill is almost useless in battle. Try not to put stat points in constitution or intelligence, since survivors don't get too much out of these points (not as much vitality as warrior, not as mana as mage), so use charms to make up for your shortcomings. Put some points in elven stamina if you find that you keep running out of breath. I really like the survivor class because I think of it as an all-versatile multiclass, and I have a lot of fun with it. Hope this helps!

after building two warriors, one sword & one archer, i definitely want to make a survivor now. i might use a bow at the beginning for those big melee brawlers, but after that i want to evntually use the dagger-class weapons. i'm kind of intrigued with those. however, i noticed that daggers have lower damage as compared to swords or maces, for example.

are there better daggers available in the latter stages of the game?

I did warrior first, and now I'm running through the game as a surviver, I'm 1/2 way, and its very nice, I'm using it all the time, I know spells and theif skills. Rose, what do u mean by putting ur points into dexterity in the begining?
