Hi everybody! I'm new to this game and I started out as a archer, at first it was great taking down the enemy from afar, but then as the game progressed so did the number of monsters in a mob- so, here is an idea for a character build!

The idea is that while you are shooting from afar YOU KEEP IT THAT WAY.

OK, here goes:

-Ranger strength: anything to increase would be great.
-Ranger stealth: hopefully the attention is drawn onto the summon when the rest of the mob is alerted. (2 points min to hit a single target before the mob is alerted).

-Summon undead & summon demon to tank enemies with your creature. (while one cools down use the other)
-Summon ghost to heal you (and your creature?, not confirmed)
-Summon mastery: the stronger the summons the better!
-Fear: So that any enemies, (who aren't fighting your summons) who get too close run away.
-Charm: Thinking of an enemy as a temporary summon, its best to target an enemy ranged attacker so they leave you alone and draw attention towards the mob.

-Blind: possibly to incapacitate another ranged enemy

-Splitting arrow & explosive arrow: Used consecutively, with one following the other so something is being blown to smithereens while cool down happens.
-Way of the ranger: buffing the damage you do before you start using the earlier arrow skills so everything is blasted away (Team rocket blasting off agaaaain!!! lol. Pokemon.)
-Mana efficiency: with all the summoning and ranger spells going on you will need it.

-Creature: technically a summon as well, call him before the action starts to replenish mana levels, this guy is stronger than most of your summons already. (Really, for something which is made of dismembered body parts it's incredibly adorable when you pet him on the head).

And there we go, an untested theory for a summoning character; points on why it won't work or better recommendations would be great thanks.

I don't know if the ghost will heal your creature, but I only had it killed off a few times (generally when trying to take out mobs I knew in advance would be a little high for my level).

Hide is Shadows might work better than Fear or Blind for defensive purposes, though would be a little more passive (however, you'd only need one skill point in it to simply reposition yourself when opponents got too close).

Kills by Charmed opponents don't give as much experience as those by your character (or creature / summon).

I'm planning on starting a ranger character when DKS is released, but will probably just switch to melee when opponents get close.

Thanks for the welcome! hug (and yeah I can't wait until the sequel reaches my country <3 )

I also found the ghost to be a lot weaker than the undead summon, maybe its better suited for melee fighters due to it's long ranged attacks.

Thanks for the hide in shadows idea, a great way to pansy away because I get mauled to pieces when I enter a room which locks itself behind me *cough* Maxos' Tower *cough*

And do you think the sequel will come with more spells? I'd like more defensive ones for my pansy ranger and I have yet to reach a high enough level for the demon summon and way of the ranger, and the explosive arrow. Why are all the good spells so far away?!! I've died countless times with mob encounters frown

There are additional dragon skills in FoV (and that section of DKS), but I don't know if the human skills have had any changes or additions.
