Will there still be annoying stuttering like in Ego Draconis?

I had pc specs:
AMD X2 6000+ 3.01GhZ
2 GB RAM
GIGABYTE GF 8600GT 256MB
WIN XP SP2

and I couldn't play at any resolutions and detail settings because of non stop stuttering...

few days ago I have changed my GPU into GIGABYTE GTX460 1GB 256bit OC
so I'm wondering will that help especially in this "remastered" Dragon Knight Saga. I'm talking about English release with polish subtitles(problem with stuttering was with any language version besides German).

In terms of memory, you have the minimum amount and I suspect that is the reason it does not run well. Having more dedicated video memory (as your new card seems to have) will help some, but having some extra RAM beyond the minimum would be a good thing. While it does not get listed in game requirements, how well a game will play when you have less than the recommended RAM depends on hard drive speed because it will be moving stuff to and from it.

Specs for Saga are:
Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz, 1 GB RAM, graphic card with 256 MB (GeForce 7600 or better), Windows XP/Vista/7

Many gamers already said - Ego Draconis (besides German version) is terrible optimized and stuttering appears even at strong PC's with 4 GB of RAM. This is the engine fault.
Also for XP 2GB of RAM is more than enough (although for Vista or 7 4GB is recommended).

Well I also hope that stuttering will be gone.
I never finished the game because of this.

I as amazed to find how the stuttering completely vanished after changing my old Athlon x2 for a Phenom II X4, not only did the stuttering stop, it also ran as smooth as silk. No other hardware changes were made.

It's not the PC problem. People with Intel e8400 had many problems with stuttering too. Just the optimalization was terrible

I have 3,25gb ram (max possible for Win XP 32-bit) and 512mb graphics card with Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4ghz and I had still a severe shuttering problem.
So I'm looking forward to DKS and hope this time it will be without shuttering...

My GF also had a huge problem of shuttering. No matter what i did or said she wouldnt shut up! but when i bought my new computer is when it all changed radically .... i gave her my old one and now shes on facebook all the time while i play DKS unbothered

in other words upgrading or buying a new comp is often the best solution right? ... right! grin

I just installed FOV. I had the stuttering issue with D2:ED and now its gone.

In fact, I am able to max the graphics and it runs smooth. laugh

Can anyone who bought DKS give a quick feel for the performance and revised engine/specs? Thanks.
