Hello. After purchasing off of steam yesterday, I ran into two odd problems, one of which I've never encountered. The first one (crash to desktop with "display adapter stopped working" message) was fixed by turning off the syncing desktop display in game. The fix for the second is eluding me. Now, I can play in the outdoor environment for a long while with no problems but, once I go indoors and then leave, I have a 50% chance of encountering the problem. When it occurs, the whole outdoors area turns a bright whitish, almost to the point of not being able to see anything. If I go back indoors, 50% of the time, the indindoors is perfectly fine; the other half of the time, everything is colored bright yellow. Menus are also affected with purplish artefacts appearing in areas. Also, when the problem manifests, I experience a huge fps drop to maybe 10 fps, which affects the menus as well. If I exit to windows and restart the game, it works fine again but the problem will show at some random time and always in the conditions above. I'm running on Vista with quad core 2ghz, Nvidia GTX 240 with 3gb ram. Can run other gamebryo games (both fallouts and oblivion) maxed with no problems and just got the newest video card drivers last week. I'll try redownlaoding from steam when I get home as it seems to have helped others. Thanks for any input!

Hi Lyflite,

That's indeed an odd problem. Please post your dxdiag to support@larian.com, it will help us track down your issue so we can include it in the next patch. Could please also try to go into the Graphics Options in-game and try to turn off HDR? Tell us if it helps and if you have other issues.

If you encounter it again, please also make a screenshot and send it to support.

Thank you for the truly quick reply! Reinstallation didn't work but, turning off HDR seems to have fixed the texture issue. I still get the occasional fps drop but Alt-Tab out and return fixes it. Thank you again for the help!

Glad we could help you & thanks for letting us know.

It's still interesting to know which Graphics card you have, please send a dxdiag log file to support@larian.com.

Otherwise, enjoy the game!
