Seriously, I'm pretty sick of all the European game publishers that release games and then screw the US over with any patches/expansions/etc. I'm looking at you, Ascaron.

So what's the excuse for this one?

We offered it to a number of US publishers, but most first want to see how it performs in Europe. We're doing our best to make it perform well so that it can hopefully be published early next year in the US. I expect it's the same for a lot of other independent devs in Europe.

You are sick of the european game publishers that screw the US ? i'm not realy following your idea.

Do you realy think that a publisher or developer would logicaly skip selling their products to a market that is worth millions, just to screw the americans because... they dont like americans?

Like Lar_q said, the american market is cautiously waiting for sales figures on Europe to check if they can make a profit. It seems its the other way round, the american publishers are trying to screw the european developers. Go figure.

As much as I hate to say it since I am a box collector the rise of digital distribution is really going to save my gaming hobby. I am so bored of mainstream games right now but on the PC digital distribution means anyone can make and sell a game on PC. I got Flames of Vengeance right away because on the PC with digital distribution nothing comes between you guys and me when I want to buy the game and you want to sell it.

The sad thing with consoles is that despite digital distribution being viable on consoles this will not be the same. You still need Microsoft or Sony's permission to sell the game, you need to go through their license and certification processes and they are very bias toward large publishers, even on their arcade service. It's a shame.

That's why open systems rock.

Now I'm starting to worry. Damn US publishers. Hey Larian, you might as well start developing generic first-person shooters. The publishers and gamers will then line your pockets with dough. More style, less substance.

My Favorite RPGs: Divinity franchise, Gothic franchise (including Arcania, so I think I'm alone...), Venetica, Risen, Two Worlds II, The Witcher, Sacred franchise, Fallout franchise, Mass Effect 1, Alpha Protocol, Planescape: Torment, Drakensang, KOTOR 1 & 2, etc.

I'm just waiting for it to be released in the US. Once that happens I will be happy to pick up a copy of this game. They have fixed the stuff that caused me not to want to buy it from the original and with the addition of the Flames of Vengeance expansion, I have no reason not to enjoy it.

Please please please don't even go there... there's already enough rubbish on the market to make it difficoult..
Good RPG's are few and far appart...

OK would it be possible for me to buy it from Canada and use it on a US Xbox? or do you guys think that my xbox wouldn't be able to process the CD?

The US and Canada both use NTSC for analog TV signals (the UK and a bunch of other places us PAL), so when the Xbox version starts showing up here you will be able to order it online and play it on a US Xbox. However, Amazon.ca lists the PC version of DKS as 'Usually ships in 5 to 8 weeks', and I have not been able to find the Xbox version listed anywhere yet.

Yeah and sadly alot of publishers evidently wouldn't know a good RPG if it jumped up and smacked them in the face.
