im a mage lvl 12.
what scrolls should i buy (if should buy any) ?

i can still enter the bandit camp.

its my first play-through so try not to spoil for me.

second question, when im wearing a weapon i see near weapon damage xx-xx ('in color' xx-xx)

im guessing the first one is melee damage and the second one is spell damage, but why when i wear two weapons that both should give bonus to spell damage, it reduces the numbers in the brackets and why when i wear my mace and add a simple shield, the number in brackets increase ?

In D2:ED I collected alchemy and enchantment formula from loot, etc, and only bought one or two. Enchantments can be learned by unenchanting a piece of equipment with a filled enchantment slot (you do not recover the ingredients, though).

The damage shown in the stat window (you are right about melee/magic ranges) is the average of the two weapons when you duel wield, so you need to double that to get your total damage. With lower levels of the duel wield skill there is a significant damage penalty to your off-hand (it eventually gets stronger than your main hand, at level 10), so your average is bound to drop. Early in the game I was more concerned with bonuses (stats, hit points, etc) on the secondary weapon than damage.
Weapon expertise effects are reflected in the damage shown, so differing levels of duel wield, single handed and single handed with shield can also change the listed damage.

If you are not going to boost any weapon skills, then you might as well stick to your mace and shield.

The enchanter in Broken Valley is to the far west of Lovis' tower and then north (check the map; a straight line approach wouldn't be the best way to get there). I found him in D2:ED while exploring at level 12, so you probably shouldn't have too much trouble getting there (through there are a couple places you may need to avoid). By talking to him (after bringing him some red ore that you may have picked up already), you can add an enchantment to equipment with an empty enchantment slot, or remove existing enchantments. Before getting the battle tower some of the ore / mineral / gem ingredients may be a little scarce. You should have found a few formula by now, or have equipment you are not going to use, but with good enchantments you can extract.
