Other enhancements include 3D character animations, a new combat system and the introduction of a party.

i've read this in the Press thingy.. what is was wondering is, does this mean that we are going on the same road as Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale? I mean that we could have a party of 6 or something like that, and that we are able to fully control those 6? Because I like it more when we are just limited by let's say a party of 2. And we don't have full control over the second charactar (like Neverwinter Nights). Making a party also means making it less hack 'n slash.

It's probably just two... Personally, I hope it's just two: it's what the concept is all about, and if they focus on that concept, this game could become quite an extraordinairy and original game in the genre

There will mostly be just the two in the partly, though sometimes others can join (see the Two small questions topic). You have full control of the party.

I'm glad they decided to go with this one. AI for NPCs is not that great in most games, and since there are only two in the party most of the time, it shouldn't get too troublesome for micromanaging. Also this means that we can equip the two characters, develop them differently (one mage, one fighter, etc.) and have them work more effectively with each other in battle. All in all sounds good to me.

what i also notist was that your hereo has a mana bar , but the deadknight not!
will this mean that the deadknight doesn't have magic abilities.
Or does it consume the mana of your hero or his HP itself maybe?

[color:"orange"] edit: i just saw th edeadknight has a mana bar also obn the schreenshots, but it's was empty... laugh

As far as I'm concerned, the more party members the better (within reason). True, it can slow the pace of the game having to control more than one character, but the payoff is that combat becomes more tactically interesting.

But more importantly for me, joinable party members improve the story potential immensely IMO. As an example, the plot for the Neverwinter Nights official campaign was a huge letdown compared to that of Baldurs Gate 2, largely due to the lack of interesting party members (NWN's henchmen didn't count because they had no impact on the story, and their interaction with the player's character was minimal). A good story needs a good recurring cast of characters, and this is most easily accomplished in a party-based game.

well the party is a good idea as long as it is a two person party...that's because this game will be like an action rpg(i hope) a bigger party can take all the fun out of the game(just take a look at dungeon siege).also i hope larian studios get the action/story balance right(just like they did in ),this is the most important element in my opinion.
