I've been playing the game for about 3 months now, with practicly no problems (great game, really should have goten a bit more acnowlegment),now all of a sudden after I went in the Cancil of Seven ,goten the quests to get all the members ,and have gotten most of them there (elf, orc, human so far) ,but now if I try to to teleport back to Council of Seven the game just simply crashes to desktop (I can teleprt everywhere else in the game no problemo).I am using the latest patch and am not using a cd crack either.Any sugestions would be greatly appriciated,as I would love to continue playing this kick @$$ game.

Do you have any problem teleporting to Verdistis? The information for the council hall and Verdistis are both kept track of in the same files. Did you try Verdistis to the council hall?
Do you have any recent saves you can load and determine when the problem occurred?

Someone else had a similar problem trying to leave Verdistis, and fixed it by replacing a couple of the files in the save (world.x1 and ??) with versions from a working save.

If you try one of the methods in the posts below to teleport into the council hall, does the game still crash? That may bypass the problem, or not.

Did you see the cut scene? If not, that could be what is triggering the crash. Try running the configuration program and switching to software mode, and maybe reduce the resolution; that helps with some cut scene problems.

If you have no-cd hack: remove it. It conflicts with the video it has to show.

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> Did you try DirectDraw? Do you have a recent save you could re-load and re-play to that point? Re-installing seems to work for you... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Pheew, just finished the game, had to reinstall again, played for a while then crash again than reinstall twice more,so I rushed as quickly as posible thru the last area to avoid any more hair puling reinstalls. End was interesting (but why did my char do what he did?),anyways thx for helping and I really hope Larian irons the engine a bit more for the next game that uses "Divinity" engine.Thx again.
