Personally, I think it would be a step backwards to go back to an top-down isometric - especially if it's fixed perspective. I enjoyed the freedom to move and look around in this game.

I have nothing against top-down, but would prefer for it to remain in 3D.

I really like 3d, but top-down works well if done properly.

I have nothing against a 20-30 hour game. Some games seem like they're long just for the sake of being long, and I'd rather have a bunch of well-done quests than a handful of quality and a serious pantload of filler.

Isometic can work...

but for the LOVE of god actually including a controlable char instead of mouse driven that results in stand and shoot/swing.

WASD to control... double tap to dodge... mouse to aim direction/ranged weapon/magic.

I'm sure Larian don't make a Diabolo copy ! wink

If Diabolo III is isometric and comes out in the future, why not also an action RPG with isomtric view coming from the dev's team I loved most of all times?

Don't forget Lar_q said they've a new idea (new feature?) they're almost sure it's never seen before !! So I'm of course very curious hahaha !

So, I'm in for an isometric view ! up

Maybe it will be more like Tomb Raider Guardian of Light which would not be a bad thing as it's still using 3D GFX, just it will allow for a much bigger adventure this way.

Beyond Divinity was "another diablo clone". DD wasn't. Well-known "series regression phenomena". The next game in the series always sucks more than the previous.

I just registered to comment, having spent most of the last week playing the Dragon Knight Saga. Please make more of the same! I did have some nitpicks about the game, but by and large I thought it was amazing. Easily rivals Dragon Age IMO (both have different strengths and weaknesses). The ability to actually BE a dragon, fly around, and engage in aerial combat is much more fascinating to me than Dragon Age's "dragons are actually darkspawn megabosses" concept. Looking forward to the next game in the series smile

I'd like to see underwater exploration too!

With a breath system, you could dive underwater and discover treasures, hidden caves to explore, rare monsters, etc.

I'd love that!

If the next game is a side story, not Divinity 3, then I suppose it would be okay to save money and development time by going for a relatively simple top-down isometric RPG. But Divinity 3 should be in full 3D similar to Divinity 2.

I would enjoy how Verdistis and the other towns have been modified from the fist divinity.
They've probably changed a lot, haven't they ?

An isometric Divinity 3 could actually work out extremely well, depending when it comes out.

Remember that in the future millions of people are going to play Diablo 3, and henceforth should be accustomed to more isometric (action) RPGs. Assuming of course, that Divinity 3 is released after Diablo 3. wink
