Hey everyone,

Just got this game off Steam, and am having an issue. The opening cutscene plays, and then when the character screen shows up, I can see the menu, but everything else is black. I can continue from here to the next cutscene, which is visible, but then I am greeted with a dialogue box and a black world. If I go through the dialogue, I end up with a radar, the bar at the bottom, the crosshair in the middle, but nothing else.

I've tried the .xml tweak, which made it so I could see the world, but I couldn't change my resolution - it would be stuck to 640x480. This obviously makes the game look not so great on a monitor with a native resolution of 1440x900.

Help would be appreciated.

Well, I figured it out. In the graphicoptions.xml I had to set my resolution to 1440x900 there. Setting the resolution to anything but 640x480 in-game caused the black screen.

Done. Best of luck with patchwork on this game, I am thoroughly enjoying it.

In the meantime we were able to reproduce and fix the problem, in the next patch we will have included the fix for this.

Until then is what you did the best solution, or you can disable aero, then it should work as well.
