new to the game and can't find a game manual, and how do I put charms into my weapons and armor, it tells me I am not qualified to equip them.

Right-click on the item you want to charm and select charm from the menu. Just a warning, you can't remove charms, so they're in there for good.

Thanks Stabbey, what about the game manual where I might find some of this information, by the way where did you find your info on adding charms?

While I can't speak for Stabbey, I found out how to add charms just by right clicking on items, as far as manuals go, that I don't know, but most things in the game were pretty intuitive to me without one.

Take time to listen the people, the voices and read the texts. They give lots of this kind of hints especially at the beginning.
And afterwards they give hints to quests and so on.
