Ive searched and searched but found nothing telling me if the DKS is playable with the x360 controller for windows. Id like to know prior to purchasing the game

It is not supported, but there are ways to get it to work (or so I hear).

Is it a matter of rearraging all the key mapping to the controller or does the controller "work" on its own just isnt supportive

I think people needed to use an external program to map the keys to the controller.

I'm using Pinnacle game profiler (just google it) and it works flawlessly with my 360 gamepad, so far i've used it for D2:ED, FOV, Risen and Fable to play with my gamepad and never had any problems with it.
It emulates verything from the keyboard keys to the mouse movements and scroll wheel.

There's a trial you can use and then decide if you want to buy it (i did).

I just downloaded the Pinnacle Game Profiler and just wandering is there a specific game profile that I should aquire? Or is default pretty well the way it should be(Ive played Divinity II ED for the 360 in US and if I can get controls to mimic that, Id be in heaven lol)

Well you can go to their site in the forum is a section where you can grab official profile or user made profile for a ton of games or you could always do like me and make your own profile.
I didnt play the 360 version but im pretty sure you can mimic it with no problem what so ever.
Heck you can even make that if you push just a little bit the joystick you walk and push if further and you run, its an amazing program
