Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General 1-handed or 2-handed?

will it be a worthy trade-off to drop the shield and wield a 2-handed sword? i bought a deathblade/deathknight sword from that guy who sells a lot of armor in rivertown market. the sword does an awful lot of damage but requires two-hands. *sigh*

has anyone here finished the game wielding a 2-handed sword, or any two-handed weapon for that matter?

yeah! I beat the game with my ol' Royal sword and my ol' Sword of Chaos, both 2 handers. They deal lots 'o' damage.

If it has Frost, it doesn't matter if it's one-handed or two-handed, I'd think. But otherwise, I wouldn't want to sacrifice prospective charm slots in a shield for a two-handed weapon.

i used a shield also.
it gived me alot of extra stas including +100 vitality +6 strenght +40 pretecting fire etc..
and with 5 cherm slots you kan upgrade your character alot more.

but it takes longer to slain your enemies . and if you dont use magic but just hit your sword, you probably have already an verry strong charakter.
but you will need fewer potions with a schiel...

I played a long time with the Sword of Chaos, but once i got the longsword from the holy quest, i switched, i found it didn't matter that much in damage, well i now had two hit the guys twice a bit more, but the benifit of the shield was also very nice, and as i didn't get hit or didn't get real damage i choose to finish it one handed with shield.
