Larian Studios Forums Divinity II The Dragon Knight Saga / Flames of Vengeance (English) Technical problems Bug: Unable to pickup a key Lanilor lane

There is a key stashed under the 2 corpses located on Lanilor lane beside the healer named Vito and the golden chest. It is impossible to pick it up, it only gives me the option to search the 2 dead bodies. I tried every angle possible for over 30 min.

Is this a bug or I should have chosen to have the champion burn the bodies instead of saving them for the healer?

This is no bug. When you pick science, bodies stay there and you get an xp reward. When you pick guard, the bodies get burned and you get access to the key.

Is there any chance that I can get the key?

Load a saved game and let the guard burn the bodies.

Pretty artificial limitation (why can't I just move the bodies and pick up the key?). Especially as Vito says he's going to take the bodies out real soon now. Also, I didn't notice the key before I had to make decision.

But afterwards it seemed pretty obvious that the key was part of the choice (to me at least).
