The special ability given by Belegar or by the bad wizard (don't remember the name very well)? It destroys all balistas and towers on the flying island you hit in one wave - very useful on big islands but be careful - not so short cooldown.
You know, madness is a lot like gravity… sometimes all you need is a little push

Just to take out the defences as quickly as you can and don't wait for the Zeppelin. Save your handy new area effect weapon for things like the lightning towers or nests that are surrounded by ballistas, use fireballs for lone ballistas and other targets, and ignore the various flying menaces. Don't use the dragon breath ability as it just runs down your mana which is more effectively employed elsewhere.
Don't forget to equip better armour before you set off as the set you wear by default does nothing useful - it's just for show.
And don't make the mistake I did which was to try to complete the last stage a zillion times after making a bit of a pig's ear of the first section: it's easier to start off from the beginning of the flight prepared with some strategy rather than to keep the autosave from however you got that far: in my case the Zeppelin had caught up and had taken damage and there's no way I would finish since I'd already dithered too much.
Oh yeah, I suppose that's the most important thing: don't hang about waiting for your mana to recharge as time is your most precious resource. If necessary stock up on as many ultimate healing and mana potions from your alchemist before setting off, anything that'll reduce time that might otherwise be wasted on waiting for mana to regenerate or the dragon heal power to recharge.

Better armour? How to do that?I only have default dragon armour. Mana is not a problem,it regenerates fast. The problem is Eye Of The Patriarch recharge time,it is too slow. Well, more or less i'm doing all the things you've said. And still, zeppelin goes down.I will try couple more times, and then uninstall.I don't have nerves to play zillion times a quest where only goal is to destroy some stupid buildings.

Glad to hear it! I was probably about the worst person to advise you since I really struggled with that section and finished it in much the same style (i.e. "I've no idea how I got here, I'm just glad it's over" ) As for the dragon armour, I assume I must've still had better stuff in my inventory from the end of Ego Draconis; otherwise I guess it'd be a quick trip to the Battle Tower to salvage whatever's in your coffer.

I have been stuggling with the zeppelin escort also, Stopped for a while. One of the answers was to re armour the dragon before you run the guantlet. Where is your old armour? One answer was that it was in inventory. Not in mine. Anyway, any help with this would be great.

Hi V,
I went to the battle tower, inventory and found no armour. Any ideas? If you left it in the coffer (or your inventory) and it's not there now, it sounds like a bug; in which case the support guys would probably be interested to hear about it... On the other hand, if you didn't already have any dragon armour, I'm not sure if anyone in Aleroth sells it. Someone else might know for certain, though.

AFAIK no merchant sells dragon armor and there aren't any drops.
If you started off with a new character in FoV you won't have any old armor so you're stuck with the default set. If you had armor equipped on your dragon from ED, the game annoyingly unequips it and places it in your inventory. I have no idea what the game does if your inventory is too full to carry your old armor.

Yep, there the armor was sitting in inventory (lucky me I had dumped a lot to the Battle Tower). Putting on the helm with the 40% boost to hitpoints really helped. I won't ask why they would dump your armor on an prior character for armor that seems to have NO bonuses and serves almost no purpose. I saw my HP were lower but never thought they would do something like this.
I have to agree with a lot of others .. this whole dragon flight climatic battle at the end seems almost like they tossed it on at the last minute. Like they were sitting there and realized "Hey, the character has been doing nothing but running around in the city the WHOLE expansion. We need to do something with the dragon. I know, lets toss in one dragon flight but make it a big one to try and make up for the lack of any other such action the rest of the expansion. But lets make it a timed mission as well so they really can't enjoy themselves and simple have to fight, fight, fight".
