Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems Crashed at start of Council of seven

It happen when Zandalor transport himself and me to the council of seven and just after the cutscence where zandalor is imprison with the magical cage, and i have to find the woman who did this, I have to travel inside ( I think its the council of seven) and just halfway through the hall. The game freeze. And after a long time, windows error appear, saying that windows have just recover from a hardware problem and i need to restart.

I'm running on a PIII 633 Mhz, Voodoo 3 3000. I use to run on glide, which is the best. When the problem start, I have even try switching to Direct 3D, but the problem persist. I'm running on Windows XP.

Please Help.

BTW: I'm running on 1.34 patch

Try switching to software mode; that can help with crash problems in the council hall.

Will software mode be very slow. I'm using Glide 1024 x 768 at 146 fps. Its okay. I'm afraid that software mode will make it slow. Does many poeple encounter this before or am i the only one ?

If you have passed the point where the game crashes now, you can switch back to the original mode you were playing in.

Just thought I'd say that I have the exact same problem, so it is reproducible. I have a PII 350 and a Voodoo 3 2000 which is the only way I can run this game <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.
Haven't tried software mode just yet. Also running win XP and 1.34.

i wouldn't use glide...i still have this problem...

even after all patches....usually when i end the game.....

i find select software, no smoothness, no alpha bit, no glide, no test,

apply-n-close! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> works everytime! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
