My resolution option in the graphics settings is not showing. I't as if all the resolution option text is black. I am running windows 7.

When I go into the game my graphics are fine, it's just that I don't have a option to change my resolution any more.

Wow - that's very strange. I'm really sorry this happened to you, as it didn't occur on any of the systems we tested it on. We're going to take the patch offline for the moment until we figure out what's going on.

To help you further - could you please let me know if deleting your graphicoptions.xml file helps.

Go to C:/Users/[usename]/AppData/Local/Divinity 2/Profile
Delete the "graphicoptions.xml" file

No, it didn't... but it resets any set options there like expected. However the resolution box stays empty...

BUT

Maybe the problem is a path issue? Before this patch, the path to the Diviniy 2 DKS profile (under Windows 7/Vista) was:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Divinity 2 DKS\Profile

now it's - as you said already -

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Profile - which was the path for ED (which I know because my old ED savegames are still under C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames - even if ED hadn't a profile folder as far as I remember wink )

If you say that the resolution setting is not showing, do you mean that there is no dropbox to select a resolution, or that the dropbox is empty?

In any case, can you try the following: in the NVidia Control Panel or the ATI Control Panel you are able to choose a refresh rate next to your resolution, check to what that is set. Try to play with that value, choose a resolution for example that has a 60Hz or 75Hz refresh rate.

Report in this thread what resolution and refresh rate you have set - whether it worked or not. If we can reproduce this problem by tomorrow, we can have a fix the same day.

Thank you,
Alex

Report: Sure, done smile

Edit:

There is no drop box that opens and the field is (even without clicking on it) empty... so it doesn't even show the current resolution. However, even if there is not a drop box shown, there is some kind of a "black field" (which could be an empty drop box...) when I click on the resolution box which partitally covers the next setting (Qualitylevel)... see a screenshot: http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/3443/divinity220101201211928.jpg

Refresh Rate is set to 60... like it has always been on my tft. smile Desktop- and Gamingresolution is set to 1680x1050. There is not much space on a tft for experiments... I'll try some different resolutions anyway...

Another side note: After installing the patch, Windows 7 automatically switches its design to Aero Basic when I start the game - which it didn't do with any other version of Divinity 2. I had them all! wink Not sure if this could have anything to do with the resolution problem...

Ok that's weird, you have a configuration that matches the ones we have here.
With some tweaking I hope we can reproduce this.

In the meantime:

* Did you force any AA settings on the application? Disable them and see if it helps.
* Try to turn off HDR and/or shadows
* Does PhysX run on the GPU? Set it to CPU (NVidia Control Panel)

Thanks,
Alex

AA is set to "Application decides", PhysX is set to Auto... however, I change it to the settings you suggested and try to turn of shadows and hdr. I'll report back in about 5 Minutes wink

Edit:
Changed the following to match your suggestions

Shadows: Off (was on)
HDR: Off (was on)
PhysX: CPU (was auto)

Resolution dropbox still gone...

No, as statet in the other thread , the rendering issue was fixed for me by uninstalling DKS, delete the profile folder completely (which still should be in the DKS user directory where the DKS savegames are and not in the user directory where the ED stuff is! :P wink ) and reinstalling the game and than the patch without installing the hotfix before.

I have the same issue, although I can play just fine :p The dropbox for resolution is empty.
Just for the sake of trying to find a correlation here are my specs:

Intel I7 950
6gb G-skill RAM
Two Asus GTX 460 directCU in SLI ( i disable the SLI to play DKS )
Asus p6td deluxe MB
Samsung monitor with 1680x1150 native res, 60hz ( i also run in dual display an old 4:3 monitor )
Windows 7 64bit
Microsoft Security Essential

Before the patch i was running on the hotfix and the edited config.xml to have 60fps. Oh and I have the english version.

Hope this helps!

The way I see it, there are only two things that are the same:

Windows 7 (x64) and a nVidia card... if I'm right, all users with problems until now had a nVidia card. wink Do you use the 260.99 driver? Or maybe a newer beta driver?

Sorry, I missed that one - need some sleep I guess - but that's a relief. We might have found a cause for the missing resolutions, but don't have one for the graphic corruption you've experienced yet, though thanks to your report, we can now set up a machine that has the same specs as you do and the same installation profile. We'll do that first thing tomorrow morning, and hopefully be able to release an adapted patch very soon.

If you're interested in the technical background, it has something to do with the solution which was introduced for the black screen problems that we've seen - this in turn is related to DirectX reporting frequencies of 59.x hz instead of 60 hz - and the fix we have for this, which works on all our systems and I expec the majority of people, somehow causes problems on the systems in this thread. So once we reproduced it and figured out exactly why, it should be easy enough to solve.

Thank you for being so helpful in assisting us pinpointing the problem.

I am using version 260.99. Here is a screenshot of the aero bug i also have since the patch :
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/2964/aerobug.jpg

I took the screenshot like one second after double clicking the DKS shortcut, half a second before the actual game starts.

@Lar_q: Thanks for the further info smile After your explanation I tried to set my refresh rate to 59hz but the "problem" is, nvidia hides that option in the 260.xx releases of their forceware driver... in earlier releases you could easily switch between 59hz and 60hz from within the resolution menu (the setting is still there but shows only 60hz as an option if you're on a standard tft without any 3D Vision stuff...). Now you have to create a custom resolution profile and must set manual timing settings. However, I did that and it also changed nothing... frown Hope you guys figure something out tomorrow smile

N0, I do have windows 7 64 bit but my graphics card is a ATI HD5850 and I have no resolution option, but graphics are fine in game.
