Hi all, i have installed this game from steam but this new patch has done nothing but ruin the game for me, is there a way to play the 1.4.9.43 version instead where i actually did decent damage to enemies? taking 3x as long to kill things really isnt my idea of fun, especially when i had nothing wrong with my game to begin with.

I'm pretty sure you can't undo a patch on Steam - you can stop a game from patching from the "properties" menu, and you can back it up before a patch (and therefore restore to an un-patched version), but once it's patched you're stuck.

If you're lucky, uninstalling and redownloading it from scratch from Steam might get you the previous version if you immediately disable updates, but I suspect you'll get the new patched version.

Thanks for the warning though - I was downloading the patch as I typed this. I have now stopped the download (by setting it to not update) and made a backup just in case I don't like it.

EDIT: Oops - seems that stopping the update still won't allow me to back it up - it insists the update must finish first. Guess I'm stuck as well. I hope they don't nerf my fireballs too much - I liked being able to kill almost anything in one shot.

If you're having trouble with the fixed balancing (some stuff was way overpowered), set the difficulty to easy.

well i wouldnt say i was having trouble with it, i just got used to being a DK/DS killing machine, taking 3x as long to kill imps and mobs 4 levels lower than me made me feel like i couldnt fight my way out of a paper bag smile

Yes, there is a way.
You need to delete Patch.dv2 and new Divinity2.exe and copy old (previous) Divinity2.exe. If you want, I could upload it for you.

Note that uninstalling the patch in any way will result in the "old known problems" such as NPC's not being there / being invisible etc. I would still try playing on easy and seeing what that gives, before doing this.

playing on easy still feels like I'm trying to kill mobs with Nerf bats not hammers and swords! Ive already completed the game once, done as many quests as i could find and had no bugs/problems what so ever so I'm pretty confident in reverting it back smile

My wife was upset when her +30 damage weapon went to +9 damage... but got over it and soon we both found the set item that has +30 damage and better base damage laugh. She is playing on easy while I'm playing on normal... I haven't had much trouble, it seem much better than ED was balance wise but I can see where people could like the uber gear at start. As long as it isn't nerfed for later gear I'll be fine.
