Loaded up my game tonight to play and noticed after a little while that I didn't seem to be doing much damage, at first I thought it was just because I found myself in a new area with higher level enemies, eventually however I looked at my weapons and realized that all of a sudden all my damage enchantments had taken a nosedive. Enchants for +70 normal damage became 50, 65 became 30, 60 magic became 2! I don't know when exactly this happened but it's not specific to my save, if I load older saves and go look at my weapons I see the same occurrence, it's also bugged for any new weapons I enchant, nothing has changed with my computer since I played last night and it was normal.

Anyone run into this before? All of a sudden I'm level 25 doing less damage than I was at 15, it takes me 2 thousand strikes and a bunch of normal hits to kill regular monsters my level. Could this be SecuRom freaking out for some reason? Only thing I've ever heard of doing odd things to content like this is DRM on the fritz.

Hehe that's part of the enchantment balancing in latest patch. Not a bug.

Really? An enchant for 60 magic damage is supposed to go down to 2? and 70 down to 50? That doesn't sound like something someone would do intentionally for balance.

They may have tweaked things abit but I can't comprehend that any of the enchants would go down to 2, not even the tier 1 bonuses of 10 damage.

edit: Deleted the content from Steam and downloaded it all again, seems to have fixed the issue whatever it was.

so your damage enchants still have the +70/60 levels? mine are down to +16 and crap like that

Well in the original ED, a level 10 damage enchantment only +27 damage/magical damage only and its more fun and challenging. DKS lost its challenge with the current overpowered enchantments and should get some balance for it

I guess it was fair enough - by the time I reached the Hall of Echoes, my level 37 DPS mage was so overpowered that all the supposed 'boss fights' were over in a matter of seconds.

I guess could have just notched up the difficulty, but there was a certain satisfaction in killing them with one fireball - it felt like a reward for my carefully planned intelligence/magic damage/destruction build. I might have to do a rebuild now the benefits aren't so clear. Thankfully I didn't wast any Malachite on level 10 damage enchantments - I settled for level 9.

My damage is lower like yours, but it's not absurd like it was before, I think it was just a display error honestly, that 2 became a 20 after a reinstall, and a few other oddities went away.

Personally i think the +2 was suposed to be +20 :P Typo from the programmer.

As for the nerf i am glad they did it, because my magic missiles are one-shot-kills for enemies my level. I am still using a weapon with +100 magic damage and I believe it is WAY overpowered. I set my game to hard and it is still too easy.
