I'm hoping this is a dumb question (well, a bit) but I can't find the answer anywhere.

I've now reached the part of the MQ where I'm supposed to enter the Hall of Echoes and have completed all the required steps, e.g. obtaining the shield, sigil and so on. It's now marked on my map and the quest log indicates it's time to get on with it.

Which is all very well, except that I can't figure out how to do so. There's what appears to be a door, an ugly great thing in the expected spot behind that structure with "teeth", but there's no means of activating it; in fact I can't get close enough to see if it should be activated or not thanks to an inconveniently placed collision box.

I'd assumed I was perhaps supposed to equip or otherwise utilise the shield or sigil, but no luck there either.

Any suggestions...?

There's no such thing as a dumb question really wink

You need to go to your quest-items, and speak the spell from Maxos (which you obtained in the battle tower I believe)

It will open up to you. Have fun!

I've done that: it removed the visible barrier, but now there's an invisible one that stops me getting close enough to the door to activate it. At this point I'm thinking it might be a bug...

For the record (in case anyone else bumps into the same thing) my installation is ED + FoV + yesterday's patch...

Turns out it's a bug: I reinstalled without the patch and can access the door without any problems.

Well I'm in, and... stuck again. I've tried progressing maybe a couple of dozen times, but I'm not sure if I've survived more than 10 seconds in any of them. Er. Bugger.

Oh, never mind. Just needed to keep my wits about me. Which is admittedly tricky for me!

is there anyway to get into the hall without having to reinstall? I'm running into exactly the same problem, I can't enter the hall even though I read the spell and the door appeared.

Not as far as I'm aware. The support chaps are looking into it and they're normally pretty good, but a reinstall will still likely be quicker than waiting for a new patch to be released... just remember to tell it not to delete your savegames! And back them up first anyway, just in case.

support got me fixed up laugh they pretty much offered the same solution as you, or to simply get into the hall with my character and save it, then send me back the save. I chose the send me the save option, haven't tried it yet as I'm not at home, but I'm sure it's working great laugh Very quick response time on their part, they did it today, and as I'm sure this is the first day they were open as it occurred over the weekend, that was insanely fast. Great support Larian laugh Apparently it's an issue of textures not updating from my old save with the new patch, so it's never showing the rocks being gone in case you were curious. Visually it's accurate but the backend/programming side apparently didn't update correctly.

I got a nice email explaining what was what too. I wish everyone provided this level of support!
