It was recently reported that Two Worlds 2 sold 1 million in mainland Europe and this made me curious on the sales of Divinity 2/DKS.

Is there any information on this?

You know whats sad, Two Worlds 2 got most of its publicity because the first one was an international joke.

To be fair, the joke was the astoundingly bad voice-acting, which combined with the oddly earnest look on the PC's face made for a slightly bizarre experience. The game itself I thought was actually pretty good. It just made me want to cut my ears off. grin

this could take a while...

Whats even sadder is that I was one of those that bought the first one, couldn't believe it, thought someone was having a larf.

I believe that press release is slightly misleading. The proper claim is probably that they shipped 1M units over three platforms, say 350/350/300, which doesn't mean these units actually sold through. I don't have access to all sales charts, but the ones I've seen certainly don't suggest 1M sales.

As far as DKS performance is concerned, no claim of 1M here but I hope that changes one day wink

Well I am sixth!

: )

I really hope this game sells, RPGs need good sales. I am really happy that New Vegas sold well, because that was a great RPG with very good writing too.

Lar

That may happen.

DKS is epic, and will continue to grow, your next game needs to be as good, (or even better) but your release anouncement needs to be loud, ie - a good wallop of publicity.

I know the chew you had before, but hopefully, the DKS success will provide you with a better starting point for the next release.

Good luck, you guys deserve success.

Do you expect some real holiday sales for Divinity DKS - something like 20-30% off? Steam offers discounts for almost every game in the world except Divinity DKS. If I want to buy this game with 33% discount from Steam I have to own Divinity Ego Draconis first, which is totally pointless for me.

There's sales going on on Steam as we speak. Just look for the Dragon Knight Saga! smile

My current fav vendor is gamersgate (primarily because they don't require a storefront client to be running when playing their games, and the game itself is bit-compatible with publisher/developer released patches - so no patch delays like we see on Steam games that aren't published by Valve or using Steamworks DRM).

Any sales forthcoming through gamersgate? Alternately, will DKS be a daily sale through Steam during the holiday sale event, or is the current sale price the only planned sale through Steam during the holiday sale event?

I think Two Worlds 2 don't sell a lot in PS3, XBOX is on more sell, in PS3 the RPG never sell a lot, sell little part, for exemple are Fallout, Oblivion, Dragon Age, one or two million less.

Not always it goes out well to spend money in publication, expenses of production ... to extract games in different platforms.

Sorry my english, i'm spanish.

They've now further said they sold 1.5 Million Units.
I think its believable, that did have a great demand, for the Euro Versions when the other international versions got delayed, so much it forced them to push it back a week to keep up with demand and also Two Worlds II is a massive step above the original.

Well I bought one Ego Draconis and one DKS, so I guess that takes us up to 7 and 8. I've never completed either game, but I love the pre-Sentinel area a bunch and have played it numerous times.

Same for me, so that makes 9 and 10 smile

And besides, I found TWII a major disappointment. I guess I'm the only one with this opinion, but I found even TWI better than this one. The story (for as far as I played..) was lame, the graphics were nice enough, but the blur was awefull and I found the camera really annoying for some unknown reason... especially on horseback.

I guess I was more used to the DKS camera laugh

I liked Two Worlds II, but the ending was extremely lame. They tried to pull a plot twist out of their hat that didn't even remotely make sense.
