So I finally got my Pinnacle setup to where I can comfortably play DKS with a gamepad. I was playing it on the TV with the sound going from my Creative Titanium X-fi card to a 5.1 channel surround sound system.

My problem is the voices do not come from the center channel. In fact, it sounds like everything is in stereo only. It makes hearing the dialog over the music very difficult. I turned down the music volume in the settings, as well as the effects volume, but it's not really the best solution since the voices are coming from my L and R speakers which are pretty far from the TV.

Does Divinity 2 have surround sound? EAX compatibility? Is there a way to enable it?

I tried Alchemy for Creative but it didn't make a difference. I also tried the Game Mode and Entertainment mode of my sound card with no change.

It's not really a big problem, just a minor niggle on my part.

I can confirm your findings about the dialogue sound coming out of all speakers instead of just the center. It's only the dialogue, though, everything else regarding the sound in general (like environmental effects) is working fine @5.1 with my Creative X-Fi setup (Win7).

I've also had a chance to check out the 360 version and it's exactly the same with the dialogue. Not much you could do about it then, I'd assume.

The sound is done in 5.1 and the voices take the position of the speaker iirc.

ForkTong, When you say "the speaker" are you referring to the Center Speaker?

Can you give me anymore information, like is the sound hardware accelerated? software? Does it use OpenAL? EAX? Miles?

Maybe with some more information I can start to better trouble shoot why I am not getting voices in the center channel.

Can anybody who is using a creative card and is getting correct surround sound post here?
