So 2 nights ago, I installed DNS, worked perfectly, and started setting up my windows xbox controller to work with pinnacle game profiler, running DNS several times in the process. Right before bed I installed the patch without playing DNS again until last night.

When I started up DNS last night to play the game, I found that it refused to obey the resolution set by the nvidea control panel. No matter what I tried, DNS would open in a far larger window than what it should have (so all the edges were being cut off to some extent). Resolution changes and tweaks, both in DNS and the nvidea control panel wouldn't fix this.

Fix that seems to work: Update nvidea drivers and restart pc several times. This seems to be a consistent error for me, as if I roll back the nvidea driver version, DNS does the same thing again.

Then I ran into another slight issue when I tried to play a game after installing the updated nvidea drivers. DNS would open to the right resolution, the starting logos and menues would display correctly, intro videos would play correctly, the player hud would display correctly, but entire area that should be displaying the character/world items would not render (would appear as a jumbled mess of colors).

second fix: set resolution in DNS to match that on the nvidea control panel (1808x1080 in my case). Everything seems to be working alright now.

Just thought id let you all know I had an issue between the nvidea software and DNS, hopefully no one else experiences this painfully irritating issue, but if they do, hope this post helps.

My setup:
Win xp media center with nvidea 9800GT card linked via DVI to a mitsubishi C9 series 60" hdtv rated at 1080p. Maximum resolution I can use is 1808x1080, not 1920x1080 because the tv automatically clips off the extra bit of data used by cable and sat providers to deliver extra strings of data.
