Glad to see my info is still hanging around.

Okay, after waiting and so on---The expected rollout has long sense passed. I've contacted our local game stores and no one has any information. So the magic question--And I have no intention of using STEAM for a digital download.

Is there any way or information on how to purchase Flames of Vengeance on DVD/CD for the PC system here in the USA? It's a little disheartening to see all the great information and details--screen shots...etc... And then find no one carries it here in the states?

Just looking for some detailed information. I'd gladly purchase it, provided they release it here in the states.

Have a good day!

I won't touch Steam either. I downloaded mine from Amazon.com and I was up and running in no time with absolutely no problems.

I'd like to close by quoting Bellegar's famous last rhyme:

The wench must have been a hell-spawned banshee!"

I'll give it some thought. My main issue with downloads is my current ISP. There are times of the day I get the full 6m as advertised---and normally after I get home from work and try to relax? It can barely pull 1/20th of that, and it's known for kicking offline right in the middle of things. It would make so much more sense if they would do a "Special Edition" set including the upgrade(s) and the expansion Flames of Vengeance. I'd be all over that in a heartbeat (and wouldn't mind paying full retail either).

Maybe if someone floating around from Larian sees this? Maybe they can check into it. I've been playing the series from the start with Divine Divinity and have a deep respect for the game.

I'm wondering much the same myself, though I'm in the UK. I've had to go for digital download from larian, because I don't like steam. But I hate digital download, I like having a hard copy, it just feels uncomfortably intangible having only a digital copy (I know I'm strange).

But I'm sick of waiting for something that may not happen, or if it does won't happen for a while.

I'm in the exact same boat. I also have a love for the Diablo series. Blizzard has been dragging it's heels big time in doing the release under the guise "wanting to ensure a quality product". I'm all for quality, but Blizzard knows they have die hard fans--and they seem to send out their stuff piecemeal...

I'll hang loose and see if anything develops with a hard copy release. **crosses fingers**

I'm not too fond of digital downloads either. I got Gothic III that way, and I'm afraid to take it out of my computer....I may lose it. I'm interested as to where i might find the expansion for div II as well....I want payback!!!!!

I don't have an answer for US release date, but I wanted to mention that I, too, do not like the "intangible" downloaded idea. But, because I already played the hardcopy of Ego Draconis, I am now downloading the FULL Saga version-- and I'm paying full price for it (I rarely pay full price for anything!), because I am buying it direct from Larian.

Not sure as to the validity of what I've read here in the forums, but one person posted (who has other posts that have been extremely reliable) that after downloading the digital copy, you can burn it onto a disc as a "hard copy" form of backup. I am hoping this will work, because that it my plan. I don't want to wait until the game is released on DVD in the U.S.-- I'm patient, but not that patient! The game was awesome to play, and based on the professional reviews I've seen posted, this revamped version is supposed to be even better! Can't wait to play. Now if my ISP server would just go faster.....

I'll try to remember to post whether the 'burn to disc' works-- I usually have problems when it comes to saving to disc.

Anyway, all best to you all!

You don't need to burn the installer to a DVD, just as long as you have a copy somewhere external to your machine for a backup - USB stick, external hard drive etc.

And for all those Steam bashers out ther - yes I know it has its issues (Such as the fact that the last game I paid for has been downloading for 3 days at 10kb/second on my high-speed cable connection), but at least you never have to worry about losing your digital copy!

Thanks for the tip, Trippy. I am glad to know that I can have some form of backup. USB sticks are much easier for me to use for backups, so I'll likely go that route.

All best,

Never had any real problems with STEAM.
Even with external DRM installation required.

Saved a butt load of money buying through STEAM. Happy about that.I get great D/L speed ( usually 1.5 mbs.) , and like I said almost 0 trouble with the site or random game. And no external DRM plug in problems either.

Saved a ton of money....

I used to use Gamestop, D2D , GOG ,etc..but now I just like it one spot. Everything plays nice..badda bing..badda boom...!!

I think the only one other I use now is StarDock for SoSE.

STEAM is just fine in my book.

I still buy my favorite games retail though..

If I like DKS enough and it eventually comes out on disc I'll probably buy it again.

People say I'm crazy..but the voices in my head say I'm just fine.
