I just learned about this game, and I went ahead and bought the first version, and am still waiting for it to get here. I live in the USA, so I didn't have the option of getting the remake yet. I will certainly purchase it when it comes out, though. I had some questions about it (the remake, not the original.) I read somewhere that it has a day/night cycle, is there any truth to this? Also, what about the weather? And my last question would be: can you LAND anywhere in dragon form, and walk around in dragon form? I was just curious. laugh Thank you.

The disk format has not reached US yet but I downloaded mine from Amazon.com

Never heard of that. In my PC version it's always daytime.

The weather is sunny skies with light breeze from the south. That's until the villan unleashes his global warfare.

You can land anywhere when in Dragon form. But, as soon as you touch the ground, you automatically switch to your human form.

p.s.
I highly recommend that you return that Ego Draconis (ED) unopened and download Dragon Knight Saga (DKS). The original ED has too many problems and will give you the wrong impression about this great game. DKS version uses an entirely different engine and there's a multitude of differences between that and ED. DKS also includes the Flames of Vengeance (FoV) expansion.

Thank you for answering my questions! But I actually bought it for the XBox 360, and I can't download it onto my computer.

Is the Amazon.com's version of DKS using Securom Internet Edition?

I have no idea what Securom is or how it affects my game. How can I find out?

Most versions of Div 2: DKS that are digitally-distributed - Gamersgate, Impulse, direct download version from Larian, and even Steam version - contain Securom Internet DRM.

Did you get a gray pop-up box where had you enter a Game Key and it took a few moments so it could look for an Internet connection so it can activate the game online?

I don't remember that. Amazon directed me to another Amazon page to get my activation code, I copied it and pasted in the previous window, and I was done. The entire process of downloading and activation took about 2 hours and I was playing the game in less than 3 hours after my purchase.

It's a bit like scrofula, only more contagious. If you look at the packaging of a SecuROM-enabled game you should see a sticker saying "warning: may cause spots."

Right - that game-key you got from Amazon is what you'll need to boot the game up with, regardless of what DRM the game's protected with.

Usually, after installing the game fully...
Once you try to boot the game up, you'll get a box asking for your game key. Then, you input the game key into the box for activation.

After playing through the first few dungeons, I've noticed that there is a lot less loot in DKS than in ED. I had more than twice as much stuff at the same point in both games. Now you could say this is offset, because DKS gives you 3 full sets of level 15 stuff that you can sell and then buy the best low level stuff the game offers. So far, I've kept all the stuff and am just going with whatever I find. I always prefer to use found equipment versus bought. I may have to give in though because the findable loot is of much less quality than what you can buy.
