Hey, I was wondering if there is going to be a Retail copy of Divinity 2 DKS released in the US. I see the steam sale is going on right now, and that's a good price, but for the games that are good, I prefer getting a boxed copy of them so I can have the memorabalia, and to also let others experience the joy of playing the awesome games.
And I already know based on past Larian games that this one's a 'keeper'. So, should I hold out hope? Or should I get it while it's this cheap price?

Apparently the finally have a publisher, and are expecting to make an announcement soon - there's a long discussion about it on this thread: http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=431375#Post431375But as to whether it's going to be available for the $20 Steam sale price is anyone's guess. I'd assume it's going to be more around the $40 standard Steam price.

That's a one-day Steam-special right now on their daily deals and that game has been on Steam for a short time period, so I doubt any retailer is going to top that sale - especially since it hasn't even hit USA retail yet! I'd assume it's going to be more around the $40 standard Steam price. That'd be my guess.

Ah, excellent. It's worth waiting for in my opinion.

I just ordered DKS from Gogamer.com(retail box)...no point in waiting One question I had prior to purchase that I think has been answered, but I just want confirmation of: you cannot buy ED:2 and upgrade to the better version can you? You must buy DKS to have the new stuff?

Infidel: we are working on a patch that brings Ego Draconis + Flames of Vengeance up to par with DKS.

Infidel: we are working on a patch that brings Ego Draconis + Flames of Vengeance up to par with DKS. Well that's good then for the owners of the original. And I apparently got the version I wanted too, excellent. By the way, the demo that was released recently was the reason for purchase. So consider that for future releases, demos sell games.

Does this mean that if I went and bought Ego Draconis that it would be patched and have the updated camera and other stuff? Because I played the original ED demo and I made a UK account and tried that demo and obviously I liked the DKS demo alot better. I was wondering if the patch will make ED like the DKS demo (the new camera system is what I liked). That way I would go buy ED then play it untill the DKS US version is released and buy it and continue my game.
If so let me know and I will get ED on the way to work, if not let me know and I will wait for the retail release. Thanks

There is a patch to convert D2:ED + FoV to DKS, not officially released yet, but available (or at least was) if you email support (see Looking for testers for FOV2DKS patch ). I don't know for sure that this patch changes the camera system, so you may want to confirm that first if you decide to go that route rather than waiting for DKS. There should be an announcement soon on when DKS will be available in North America. I don't know if or when a patch just for D2:ED may be released.
