Haven't seen this mentioned yet so I just thought I'd pop in and let people know about this. The first hour or so of FoV consists mainly of talking to people and mindreading and you'll usually end up with a considerable experience debt (200k or so). It's definitely worth it to respec your skills and max the mindread skill for the experience discount and respec back after you've read the minds of most of the people in Aleroth.
