I don't have TDKS, I live in the USA, so it hasn't been released yet. This is just normal Divinity 2 for the XBox 360. I'm very frustrated right now, because the fighting is too dang hard. I just got this game and I've been looking forward to it, but I can't even enjoy it because the fighting is ridiculous. It's on the lowest level. I guess I'm just not a gamer, so I'm about to pull out my hair trying to figure out what to do. Is there ANY way to make this better? I just can't do it, it's too hard, and it's ruining the game for me. I haven't even gotten to Maxos' temple yet, and already I'm overwhelmed. Please help!

1. First. wrong thread, the ED section is HERE
2. Lower the difficulty mode in settings (can be done in game)

Opponents levels are fixed in the game, so if you find them too hard, the only thing I can suggest is to go back to an earlier section and gains some more levels (kill monsters, do quests etc) before trying again.

I've heard ED is much harder than DKS, but can't comment as I've only played DKS. Certainly DKS on 'casual' difficulty is very easy.

Otherwise look on the ED section of forums for recommendations on build/equipment/tactics. Good luck!

Post in the D2:ED forum with details of your build and location for more feedback. If you have just gotten access to the full Broken Valley, the area around Lovis' tower is quite difficult at first, but there are easier creatures and locations to do first.

Hey Fish (brother-in-gills cool )

Like you, I was struggling just a couple of days ago with Goblins - Chiefs were impossible and even lowly Lvl 7-ers were difficult for my Lvl 8 to kill.... as they usually attack in 2s or 3s, it was often Goodnight for me (though Whirlwind helped considerably...)

By digging around this Forum and also looking at this very useful Guide and Walkthrough, you can find all the beginning Quests and build up your skill points and XP (for example, there's a pretty simple puzzle concerning books in the Inn, the solving of which will earn you a cheap Skill Point).

Also, as you level up, keep checking out the Traders, especially Derk the Blacksmith, for new Weapons and Armor. At Level 9, I managed to buy a humungous Bow, Ranger's Rest, which increased my Damage from 9 max to 40 max, this was enough for me to take down the Troll easily by running around him and hitting him from a distance. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth all the trouble, as it got me less than 300XP, and he didn't drop anything frown.

In fact, this Bow is so powerful and so quick to fire that I just use it for melee, and leave my two-hander in its scabbard laugh

The good thing about Divinity (at least, so far as I have played it....) is that mobs don't re-spawn, so you can slowly take down a group and retire to recoup before sneaking back again to pick off another one. Eventually, you'll clear the area and loot all the chests and boxes.

I dealt with Lovis' Tower by
climbing up the high ladders and platforms (you'll get to them once you've got rid of that pesky Troll...). You'll two Trios of Goblin Rangers to deal with (essentially, just side-step their arrows until you can melee with them) and then jump around the locked gate - you'll find a waypoint shrine here, so you can go back to the village and get new weapons or potions before continuing into the Tower).

After the Tower, I was Level 10, with a couple more skill points, some tasty Armour, and the Goblins and Skeletons became much easier to deal with, like a knife through warm butter, in fact - so stick at it!

Softlee Softlee...

Yummy..
First of all ED is really hard for Newbies, Veterans, and even considerably hard for gamers for the first time they played.

Seriously Dude, all the players face the same problem
Like some other person., they'd choose archer/ ranger cause Archer is Overpowered in this Game.
Here's a hint:
broken Valley : you have to be level 18 at least to go to the
Sentinel Tower: level 25 to go to
Orobas Fjords: level 35 and fight thhe flying fortress
aleroth : level 35~ 48 and then can continue Flames of Vengeance.

The Difference About ED and DKS is DKS IS a HELL lot MORE EASIER.
For your Info, im a warrior. Battle Hardened to endure attacks melee or range but a little weaker when facing magics.

When Facing Hard Times Go to other places which the mobs is easier
Again Again and Again Farm2 and levelling ok.,,
