I am past the Battle Tower part of the game(doing side quests for it actually) and just remembered two things I wanted to do in Broken Valley but assume I cannot anymore.
The first was the Hellgate. I beat it but reloaded to save the last monster just in case a quest required it...then forgot about it. Was that my only chance?
Second. The big fortress near the Hellgate that has a cutscene showing the doors being blown off...when I entered the complex, the voice in my head told me to leave or surely die. I explored anyway with the intention of reloading an older save and skipping it until a quest sent me there. Again, I forgot and also found no quest for it.
What was the purpose of these two small areas? You can go ahead and spoil it for me and say I can go back later when the "fog has cleared" so to speak.

Unfortunately, you can not get back to the Hellgate. I think someone said you can get a demon's claw from it (for 'The Greater Hunter' quest, from Brave Sir Robin in the Black Boar inn), if you didn't already get a claw from a demon Bellegar summons at one of his shrines. I found a few quest items/NPCs before getting the quest, and didn't have any problems.
At the quarry you could have taken out the Black Ring members outside earlier, despite Talana's warning, but the ones inside the tower are a much higher level, and you don't actually need to enter until later. The tower and the top of the walls remain above the poison gas, and you can return there after acquiring the battle tower. You might want to go up a few levels before returning, though; IIRC there is a level 28 dragon general hanging around the entrance from the fjords (it is safe to enter as a human, but you can not get very far on foot).

I suggest to reach at least level 30 before entering the area...from there you'll have access to the mines, and inside the mines you'll have to deal with a level 30 Demon (i won't say the Demon's name ^^) plus varius level 28 enemies... Good luck ^^

how do you get to 30 level cant seem to get more than 22 Just keep going through the main quest, there's plenty of levels to be had during and after Sentinel Island. You can eventually go back to the mine building to finish them off.

how do you get to 30 level cant seem to get more than 22 If you explore the Orobas Fjords you'll find tons of quest and dungeons...I suggest to start in the Dragon Form and destroy all the towers and flying enemies you encounter...you'll gain at least 1 level, than proceed by killing level 18 goblins in human form near the Grand Knight Shrine...the next enemies you'll encounter will be level 21, so be carefull. Speak with the miners (Crabbe) at the entrance of the Orobas Fjords to star the Red Ore Alert quest...you'll have to deal with level 21 Goblins but you'll gain many Exp

I was already past 30 when I posted(now 36). Robin's hunting quest had also already been completed, so it seems I simply missed a bit of loot.
Guy asking about levels: follow the game guide and make sure you do all side quests. I made sure I had a Wisdom of 5/5 as soon as possible, and 10-12/13 when you can upgrade later(using a necklace of +2).
Always take the extra experience when you complete a quest, and have upto a 10 Mindread with or without bonus to lower costs. I carry a couple extra pieces of jewelry so I can switch back and forth before/after conversations(1 with +2 Wis, the other +2 Mindread). Max experience gained from combat, minimal exp used for Mindread.
I think I might make Level 38 if I'm lucky...almost done with Orobas side quests and have most of the main remaining. Although I don't exactly know how much game is left, I think I'm close to being done according to the gameguide.

Remember, as you reach the Hall of Echoes, that will be the last mission you have to do before ending the game...so if you still have some quest to complete, do it before entering the Hall of Echoes. The first time I ended the game i was level 35 and i've had some problem with the last fight...this time i think i'll reach level 38-39, hopefully

Where can i find it? Thank you.

Excuse me, this may be a stupid question. But there's a game guide? Where can i find it? Thank you. There's a few online. The GameFAQs guide is probably the most detailed; The Gamepressure guide is probably the easiest to follow; and The Wikia guide promises to be the most comprehensive.
