Hehe, don't tell me you bought his house from him rolleyes

Seriously tho, did you not check your mailbox for an eviction notice?

I'd like to close by quoting Bellegar's famous last rhyme:

"Cursed be the mother that bred thee!
The wench must have been a hell-spawned banshee!"

Don't worry:

Later in the game you have a chance to turn the tables and scam your money back from him

Dear all,

I nearly did all the side quests but still, Willy does not show up. I regulary go to his house but he is not there. Willy talked to me twice. Once when I decended down from the city hall to Lanilor street and later near his house in the area of the temple of Nimir's entrance.
Why doesn't Willy show up? Maybe I missed something and therefore the quest cannot be triggered?
Have anybody of you also got the same "problem"?
Thanks for your kind help!
Cheers!

I had another strange problem: I was there inside Willy's house and Willy said he give me the key of his house to me ... After that and go back to his house the door is locked and seems I haven't the key ! smirk That I fidn very strange ... don't know what the reason can be .

and there was a locked chest inside his house, but at that time my lockpick skill wasn't high enough, so I missed that chest ...

There should be one more encounter on Lanilor Lane before he says he will wait for you at his house. From Lancet's DKS FAQ/Guide;

Quote
----------------
A SWINDLER SWINDLED
----------------
Start: Speak to Willy on Lanilor Lane. There are four possible locations to meet him, and he stays at the last one. At the first three locations, you have the opportunity to swindle him for 500 gold, for a total of 1500 gold. This has no effect on his quest. The locations are in the following order:
A: At the entrance to Lanilor Lane, from the Great Market.
B: At the end of Lanilor Lane, near the gate to the alley that leads to the Temple of Nimir.
C: Near the center of Lanilor Lane, west of the shrine.
D: Outside Willy's House, east of the shrine.

I can only remember I meet him at location A and D ... can't remember he was at location B or C ...

So nothing changes in any way if I give Willy each time 500 gold or not? Or is it in another way?
Flames of Vengeance provides you with so much quests (great!) .... but it's difficult to remember ... can you imagine ?

But a question: going inside Willy's house is another quest that have something to do with bandits, isn't it? Can both quests (A SWINDLER SWINDLED & the quest with the bandits inside of Willy's house) affect eachother in some way ? Maybe that's the reason Willy's house keep closed and he says he gives me his key, but because I did something in the wrong order(?) I can't go inside Willy's house for a second time ? Or is it always a one trip inside his house, whatever I do? Or ... ?
Or Willy was lying to me about his key?

It shouldn't matter if you gave Willy any gold while in Broken Valley, or got him to give you gold in Aleroth.

It also doesn't matter if you tell him you will help, or tell him you will not, when he is outside his house. When you follow him in (despite mentioning a key, he has to enter the house first, at which point you can follow), that is when you make the final decision whether to help him or side with the assassins.

If you side with Willy, IIRC you can not get back into the house after you leave (at least if you tell him to run when he tries to sell you the house). If you side with the assassins you can trade with one of them, so I assume you should be able to exit the house and return (I tried the quest both ways, but don't recall if I left). The Shadow Archer Cuirass has better stats if dropped when you kill the head assassin than if you buy it from him, and he wasn't that great of a merchant anyway, so I sided with Willy in that quest (though didn't end up using that set at all).

Aha, now I understand ! I sided also with Willy ... that's the reason I can't go back inside his house ... smile Thanks Raze ! wave

Now I know what to do: play further DKS to reach the part in FoV with Willy (but only level 13 now hahaha ... or I can start a new L35 in FoV, of course ).

Now, because I'm waiting to play Skyrim till a new update is coming out to fix issues ... I have time to play DKS smile

But I already know, if I do, I can't stop playing DKS hahaha ! It's so very addictive, much more than Skyrim or whatever other game is, except Divine div !!

Just a note about the Shadow Archer Cuirass: if you buy it from the bandit leader, it isn't just "lower stats;" it actually has NO armor stats whatsoever. All it has are its skill bonus and the enchantment slots. The actual defenses may not be that important, but siding with the bandits means you're getting a much inferior Shadow Archer Cuirass.

However, the bandit is one of the few merchants who stocks Divine Charms, for whatever that may be worth to you.

Thanks Lancet !! Next time I take the side of the bandits ... I like trading, so an extra trader is always welcome & Divine Charms are good smile
